The SMS Server Tools is a SMS Gateway software which can send and receive short messages through GSM modems and mobile phones.
You will be able to send short messages by simply storing text files into a special spool directory. SMS Server Tools monitors this directory and sends new files automatically. It also stores received short messages into another directory as text files.
Binary messages (including Unicode text) are also supported, for example ring tone messages. Its also possible to send a WAP Push message to the WAP / MMS capable mobile phone.
SMS Server Tools can be run as a SMS daemon which can be started automatically when the operating system starts. High availability can be ensured by using multiple GSM devices (currently up to 64, this limit is easily changeable).
SMS Server Tools can run other external programs or scripts after events like reception of a new message, successful sending and also when the program detects a problem. These programs can inspect the related text files and perform automatic actions, for example storing information into a database (for example MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server), sending an automatic reply, forwarding messages via eMail (SMS to eMail gateway), ... and whatever you like.
The SMS Server Tools runs on Microsoft Windows (with CygWin) and any Unix including Solaris, BSD, FreeBSD and Linux. This software needs a GSM modem (or mobile phone) with SMS command set according to the european specifications GSM 07.05 (=ETSI TS 300 585) and GSM 03.38 (=ETSI TS 100 900). AT command set is supported. Devices can be connected with serial port, infrared or USB.

FreeMIDI is a complete MIDI operating system for the Macintosh. Its parts include a FreeMIDI system extension, an optional OMS (Open Music System) emulator extension (to emulate the Opcode MIDI System), and a FreeMIDI folder that resides in the top level of the System folder.

FreeMIDI automatically detects which type of MIDI interface is connected to your Macs modem and/or printer port, determines which MIDI devices are connected to the interface (it recognizes more than 200 device types), and provides users with a System 7 style graphical representation of their MIDI studios.

FreeMIDI also provides pop-up sound lists for more than 100 popular MIDI synthesizers, as well as generic support for any general MIDI device. It even includes advanced features such as interapplication communication, multiple-application, real-time synchronization, and support for Digidesigns SampleCell NuBus card.

Router IP Address is a small utility for discovering the dynamic IP address assigned by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) when you have a router connecting several computers to a single internet connection (cable modem, DSL, or telephone modem).

Router IP Address is simplicity itself. Just run the program and it displays the IP address that the rest of the Internet sees when you browse or communicate with various service providers. If you have a direct connection to the Internet this number should match that being used by your operating system but if you are using a router or gateway on your local network it will likely be different.

The Broadband Tuner allows you to take full advantage of very high speed Internet connections that have a high latency (5 Mbps or faster). The installer tweaks some system parameters.

There is an optional uninstaller that can be used to restore the settings that were in effect at the time just before the system parameters were changed.

The installer increases the default values for the size of the TCP send and receive buffers. With larger buffers more data can be in transit at once. A startup configuration file is also updated so that these changes will persist across restarts.

The system parameters are sysctl variables that are set as follows:

net.inet.tcp.sendspace: 131072
net.inet.tcp.recvspace: 358400
kern.ipc.maxsockbuf: 512000

This change has a system wide effect and is applied even if the network is not high speed connection with a high latency, with the exception of modem connections for which the system uses small default TCP buffer sizes.

Verifile is a small freeware utility that calculates a checksum and a CRC32 on both the data and resource forks of any file thats dropped on it. This is useful if you want to compare two files that are not on the same machine without having to copy them over a network or modem connection.

If the hexadecimal numbers displayed by Verifile match, chances are that the two files are equal; Verifile automatically compares these numbers for the last two files that were checked and tells you if they match or not.

Verifile also displays the elapsed time to measure processor and disk performance.
The PowerPC code runs a lot faster than the 68K code if the file to verify is on a RAM disk, while the speed improvement is smaller on slower media.

SpeedTouch 510 Status Widget displays the SpeedTouch DSL line status: linestate, speed, uptime and data transfer.
Tested with SpeedTouch 510 and SpeedTouch 530, may work with other Alcatel/Thomson ADSL modems.

The Connect Mail & Safari script establishes a modem connection, launches Safari, resizes the window and position, launches Mail, resizes and positions main window and then closes the Internet Connect window.

Script is saved as an application and an alias can be placed in the Dock.
