BitPim is a Python-based app that allows you to view and manipulate data on LG VX4400/VX6000 as well as many Sanyo Sprint cell phones.

Bitpim is a tool includes the PhoneBook, Calendar, WallPapers, RingTones (functionality varies by phone), and the embedded Filesystem for most Qualcomm CDMA chipset-based phones (expert users).

Note: You should to use the test releases if you have any phone other than the LG VX4400, with the LG VX4400 you should use this version. Also, straight USB cables for the LG VX4400 phone WILL result in errors.

iCal Helper is an example of a rapidly prototyped tool to fulfill a specific task using AppleScript Studio. The problem is the lack of scripting support in Word + Entourage Special Edition, which make easy transfer of calendar events from Entourage to iCal difficult.

Also, the lack of recurring tasks in iCal, forces many tasks in Entourage to be entered as calendar events. iCal provides an easy to manipulate interface to float its window above Entourage 2001 running in Classic and a task and/or calendar list can be read and entered. Those of you who have upgraded to PhotoShop 4.0 will appreciate the QuarkXPress to PhotoShop script. Select the images in a QuarkXPress layout that you want to process in PhotoShop and run the script. Each image will be opened in PhotoShop and indicated scripts from the Actions palette will be applied to the opened image.

FoldIt light is a molecular modelling program to visualize and manipulate interactively protein structure files from the Brookhaven Protein Data Bank (PDB). Its an integrated environment allowing 3D manipulations as well as statistical analysis.

Protein structures can be manipulated easily in real time with the mouse, zoomed or observed in stereo. Animations can be created. Steric conflicts, disulfide bonds, hydrogen and ionic interactions can be located and displayed in the protein structure. Atoms and residues can be tagged individually (or globally) and structural information can then be extracted and reported in a text window.
