Output is recorded into a FileMaker Pro 7 database.

US Academic is a generic US qwerty keyboard layout for MAC OS X. It allows easy access to almost all the characters defined as Extended Roman and IPA.

This disk image contains the generic US qwerty-based US Academic, also included, as a basic component, in the Romanian Academic disk image, posted separately (RO-US Academic).

You may use US Academic as a hopefully better keylayout instead of U.S. Extended, included in MAC OS X as the default Apple multinational keyboard layout. US Academic covers all the characters defined in the Latin -1 Supplement, Latin Extended-A, Latin Exended-B, Latin Extended Additional, IPA Extensions and Combining Diacritical Marks (CDM); and the key combinations are easy to remember if you are familiar with this type of keyboard layouts. It allows to achieve practically all the possible diacritical marks and the specific characters for linguistic and phonetic use.
