Bitshift Audios beat programmer, Art Gillespie (aka bitshift), is so excited about GarageBand and the new Apple Loops file format that he put together this collection of free electro/breakbeat drum and synth loops from his forthcoming Apple Loops CD‚ bitshifts bangin‚ beats‚ for everyone to download for free.

Dent du Midi is a drag-and-drop application that takes standard MIDI files and generates AIFF containers for each track which contains note data.

These AIFF container files are suitable for dropping into Apples GarageBand application for use as loops or entire tracks. In simple terms, this application allows you to convert MIDI files into GarageBand files.

The name is a bit of a play on words. Dent du Midi is a 10,686 foot (3257 meter) mountain in the southwest of Switzerland in the west Alps.

The name is French and is pronounced something like "don doo midi" which I thought sounded like "dont do MIDI" which is why I thought it would be an appropriate name since GarageBand doesnt import MIDI files.

SpirographX is used to generate cool, radial images. It works like a spirograph, but with limitless possibilities. Add more loops, tweak loop diameters, and set colors to create endless visuals. The animate feature will even let you animate them in real-time.
SpirographX also includes a screen saver module which allows you to watch the visuals hands free! The module generates imagery randomly, but has detail and interval options.

Rember 0.3.5b is designed as a useful front-end GUI to the 'memtest' command line memory testing program which can help you easily select the number of test loops, as well as the amount of memory to test. There is a 'Log' tab that will allow the user to monitor memory testing. The user can toggle a 'verbose' switch to limit the amount of output.The user can choose to quit Finder and other applications.

Defective memory can cause computers to malfunction, crash, and behave in a variety of ways which can sometimes baffle end users and computer technicians alike. Apple provides hardware test CDs with most of their products, and there are some third-party utilties for Mac OS X which perform memory testing. In my experience, these tools have not always been able to quickly and efficiently diagnose memory problems. Rember has been designed to simplify the testing, and diagnosis of these problems.
