Free folder software for mac

Well, my dad got a new eMac and asked me for an easy way to burn a CD from a folder. So I created this small application. You just drop a folder on it, insert a CD-R or DVD-R, hit the Write button and your CD is burned.

Because of a bug with Mac OS X 10.3 in the Speed Test, currently no Speed Test is performed before burning is started. So burning may fail if the source folder cant deliver data fast enought. (e.g. with a folder from a network volume with a bad or low performance connection.)

This application is freeware and provided as is. Donations are welcome.

Open Resource Folder will attempt to open the Resources folder of a package that has been selected via an open dialog. For maximum benefit, it can operate on a list of files when executed via the contextual menu provided by Big Cat Scripts Plugin.

Folder Actions are back in Mac OS X version 10.2, aka Jaguar. They are included as a scriptable system event, but theyre kind of out of the way. Apple gave us some scripts for the Scripts Menu to control them.

Unfortunately they are a little cumbersome compared to the control-click connivence of Mac OS 9. So, the developer wrapped the supplied scripts into a tiny Apple Script Studio application. It was tiny and only took about 10 minutes to do. But it is so useful, the developer thought hed share it with you all.

Deletes the contents of a selected folder, grabs the items inside of it, and sends those files to the trash.
Enhancements:
- Version 1.0a1 fixes the bug where the Automator application would not clear out the entire folder.

The time has come, OS X Code (r,s) releases a first OS X application, Folder Clean-Up!

So what does it do? The app is very similar to Chaos Antidote. However, there are two main differences, it’s free and you just have to drop the messy folder you want to clean-up over the app and all files and folders inside will be moved into new folders based on the filetype.
Additionally Folder Clean-Up allows you to define files that shouldn’t be moved.

Attach Folder Actions is a drag-&-drop ready application that simplifies attaching Folder Actions to folders and their subfolders.

The user is presented with choices via two possible dialogs: the folder to start attaching the Folder Action in (unless it was pre-determined by a drop), and the Folder Action script to attach to the folder(s).

Folder Jumper is a cool system enhancement that automatically jumps to specified folders as you type a file’s name in the “Save As…” dialog box. For example, you may want to automatically save all files whose name ends with “.jpg” inside a “Pictures” folder somewhere on your disk.

To set up a destination folder and link it to a set of file names, all you have to do is to create an alias to the folder and move it to the “Folder Jump Aliases” folder inside your System folder.

The name of the alias is matched against user-entered file names in one of four ways: partial, exact, suffix or prefix.

The alias naming rules for each case are described in a SimpleText document named “instructions” that’s automatically created in the “Folder Jump Aliases” folder when you click the “Settings” button in the Control Panel.
