With the release of Mac OS 9, Sherlock II is able to manage your plugins making Dock Managers obsolete. Dock Detox is a haxie that will remove application icon bouncing in the Dock. You can turn off the application launch bounces, but not when a particular application is requesting your attention.
Dock Detox detoxicates the Dock from this excessive bouncing. Additionally, it includes a development kit for third-party developers to intercept the Dock icon bounce requests and display visual feedback in their applications.

DisplayKit is a framework that wraps around CoreGraphics in order to provide a Cocoa "native" interface to display capturing, resolution switching and gamma fading.
DisplayKit may also be used to retrieve a list of all connected displays and get the individual attributes of each, such as color depth, screen width and height, and the corresponding CoreGraphics display ID, among others.

Maybe is a free utility designed to improve upon the System 7 implementation of alias files.

This application picks up where Finder left off in its implementation of aliases. Maybe converts a Finder alias file to give it an additional effect.

Converted aliases do more than just point to the original item. They can:

- open or print every item in the target folder
- open some other item (document, application, folder, or whatever) first
- send an Apple event to another program
- make a startup item optional, by questioning the user, or checking the state of a key.

Maybe doesn’t solve your problems directly, but it gives you the power to do a lot of things you’ve been wanting to do.

Metallifizer will enable or disable brushed metal appearance on selected Cocoa applications under Mac OS X 10.2 (this includes Safari, Address Book, iChat, Calculator and others, but not iTunes and QuickTime Player, as latter are Carbon applications).

Unstoppable Progress uses Unsanitys Application Enhancer SDK to create the effect of overflowing status bars. They overflow with water as time passes, eventually spilling off of the window.

Unstoppable Progress is a hack we created for the MacHack Best Hack Contest, part of the MacHack Conference in Detroit, Michigan. The contest is really very simple. You program a hack, present it, and vote for it as many times as you can. The ballots are tallied and the winners receive prizes during the banquet on the last day of the conference. We won first place this year with Unstoppable Progress.

The source to Unstoppable Progress is included as part of the download. Its a Project Builder project, and requires the Unsanity Application Enhancer SDK (FREE). Its pretty messy, but we commented it as best we could. Poke around and have fun!
