JColorGrid 1.858
JColorGrid is a data visualization tool more>>
A color-grid is a generalization of the popular heat map representation that displays information two-dimensionally with an associated color hue. Color-grid representations provide an excellent means of illustrating complex data sets and can be used to identify trends, clusters and extremes in a given data set.
JColorGrid has been designed for ease of use and general utility. Data is entered into JColorGrid from a spreadsheet file (.xls) or a tab-delimited text file. Titles, row and colomn headings, scale titles and data are specified in input file. JColorGrid will represent both numerical and text data. There is no limit on the number of columns and rows.
Configuring the output color-grid is done using the JColorGrid configuration menu. Display colors can be specified for the data range, as well as for data the requires special handling, called exceptions. Additionally, the gradiant of the color scale is specified in the configuration menu. JColorGrid has many flexible color options that users are encouraged to explore. JColorGrid will output to both JPEG and EPS allowing the user to further modify the color-grid output in a suitable graphics editor.

BALLView 1.1.1
BALLView - Molecular modelling and more more>>
BALL (Biochemical Algorithms Library) is an application framework in C++ that has been specifically designed for this purpose. It provides an extensive set of data structures as well as classes for Molecular Mechanics, advanced solvation methods, comparison and analysis of protein structures, file import/export, and visualization. BALL has been carefully designed to be robust, easy to use, and open to extensions. Especially its extensibility which results from an object-oriented and generic programming approach distinguishes it from other software packages.
BALL is well suited to serve as a public repository for reliable data structures and algorithms.
Based on BALL we have developed a stand-alone tool for molecular visualization, BALLView.
BALLView makes the broad functionality available through an integrated user-friendly GUI. BALLView is a free molecular modeling and molecular graphics tool. It provides fast OpenGL-based visualization of molecular structures, molecular mechanics methods (minimization, MD simulation using the AMBER and CHARMM force fields), calculation and visualization of electrostatic properties (FDPB).
DINO 0.9.2
DINO - 3D visualization program for structural biology data more>>
Structural Biology is a multidisciplinary research area, including x-ray crystallography, structural NMR, electron microscopy, atomic-force microscopy and bioinformatics (molecular dynamics, structure predictions, surface calculations etc). The data produced by these different research areas is very diverse: atomic coordinates (models and predictions), electron density maps, surface topographs, trajectories, molecular surfaces, electrostatic potentials, sequence alignements etc.
DINO aims to visualize all this structural data in a single program and to allow the user to explore relationships between the data. There are five data-types supported: structure (atomic coordinates and trajectories), surface (molecular surfaces), scalar fields (electron densities and electrostatic potentials), topographs (surface topography scans) and geom (geometric primitives such as lines).
The number and size of the data the program can handle is only limited by the amount of RAM present in the system.

ProM 4.1
ProM - Framework for Process Mining and the leading process mining toolkit more>>
We welcome and support practical applications of ProM! Note that the ProM framework is issued under an open source license, namely the Common Public License (CPL), and we invite researchers and developers to contribute in the form of new plug-ins.
Currently, there are already more than 150 plug-ins available, and we support the import of (and the conversion between) several process modelling languages, such as:
- Petri nets (PNML, TPN)
- EPCs / EPKs (Aris graph format, EPML)
- YAWL
- (and many more)
There are mining plugins, such as:
- Plugins supporting control-flow mining techniques (such as the Alpha algorithm, Genetic mining, Multi-phase mining, ...)
- Plugins analysing the organizational perspective (such as the Social Network miner, the Staff Assignment miner, ...)
- Plugins dealing with the data perspective (such as the Decision miner, ...)
- Plugins for mining less-structured, flexible processes (such as the Fuzzy Miner)
- Elaborate data visualization plugins (such as the Cloud Chamber Miner)
- (and many more)
Furthermore, there are analysis plugins dealing with:
- The verification of process models (e.g., Woflan analysis)
- Verification of Linear Temporal Logic (LTL) formulas on a log
- Checking the conformance between a given process model and a log
- Performance analysis (Basic statistical analysis, and Performance Analysis with a given process model)
Finally, ProM sports a large array of log filters, which are a valuable tool for cleaning logs from undesired, or unimportant, artefacts.
Process mining techniques allow for extracting information from event logs.
For example, the audit trails of a workflow management system or the transaction logs of an enterprise resource planning system can be used to discover models describing processes, organizations, and products.
Moreover, it is possible to use process mining to monitor deviations (e.g., comparing the observed events with predefined models or business rules in the context of SOX).
Process mining is closely related to BAM (Business Activity Monitoring), BOM (Business Operations Management), BPI (Business Process Intelligence), and data/workflow mining.
Unlike classical data mining techniques the focus is on processes and questions that transcend the simple performance-related queries supported by tools such as Business Objects, Cognos BI, and Hyperion.
Enhancements:
- Mac OS X 10.1 or later
- Java Runtime Environment, Version 1.5/5.0 or greater
- Graphviz graph layout suite (http://www.graphviz.org) installed
IFRIT 3.1.0
IFRIT - General purpose visualization tool more>>
IFRIT is written in C++ and is based on two state-of-the-art toolkits: the Visualization ToolKit (VTK) and a GUI toolkit QT.
IFRIT has its origins (and hence name) in a specialized utility designed to visualize ionization fronts in cosmological numerical simulations. But IFRIT has outgrown its origins and now can visualize general data sets as well. Philosophy behind IFRIT IFRIT is similar in its capabilities to the commercially available products like Amira or AVS, but is based on a different philosophy.
Most of the commercial products allow you to construct the pipeline of your visualization process. The pipeline model gives you a lot of flexibility, but this flexibility comes at a price of having to construct a pipeline even for simple visualizations.
IFRIT, instead, limits your flexibility somewhat by giving you only a fixed set of widget controls, but then you can accomplish very complicated visualizations with IFRIT with only a few mouse clicks. In order to give you a large choice of possibilities in a manageable way, IFRIT uses the hierarchy of tab widgets.
In many respects the hierarchy is similar to the directory hierarchy on the hard disk. It offers an advantage of being able to switch between different widget pages in a few mouse clicks (just like between different directories in a file manager).
Another important feature of IFRIT that distinguishes it from most other visualization tools is that it has highly developed support for displaying particles. Particles are rarely used in industry, but are very common in science.
