DockDisks is a hack that causes disks to auto-mount in the Dock. This can be handy if you want to put your dock on the right side of the screen but want to avoid the conflict for space with the disk icons on the desktop.

It can also help avoid the problem of desktop icons becoming covered up by open windows.

DockDisks is a hack, and as such it is obviously not perfect. The main caveat is that the Dock is quit and relaunched when the list of disks is refreshed, because the Dock has no API for adding/removing items, and thus has to be relaunched to refresh its settings. However, DockDisks does do its job, which is to put your disks in the dock.

Do you run a web/file/database server or any other kind of Macintosh server ? Do you use a remote access package (Timbuktu, ARA, ...) or do you use your Mac for receiving faxes ? Do you depend on your Mac being up and running all the time ? Unfortunately, Macintosh software is not always as reliable as wed like it to be. Crashes and system freezes can frustrate you at best or make you lose a lot of business at worst.
Have a look at AutoBoot. AutoBoot is a Control Panel that restarts your Macintosh when it crashes or freezes, ensuring that your server is always up and running. Many AutoBoot users can testify: AutoBoot is a real lifesaver. No Mac server should be without it !
AutoBoot 1.6.5 is compatible with all versions of the MacOS and the Classic Environment of Mac OS X.
Mac OS X is designed to be a very robust and stable OS so it should rarely crash or lock up entirely. Therefore theres little need for a native version of AutoBoot for OS X.
However, the Classic environment can still crash or freeze. To make matters worse, it is not obvious for the average user to know if the Classic environment has crashed.
To solve this problem, simply install AutoBoot in OS 9.x, and it will also load in the Classic environment. If the Classic environment crashes or locks up, AutoBoot will restart it (but OS X keeps running).

Play Sound Pautex is a scripting addition which enables you to to play sound files. Two other scripting additions (in Jons Commands and the GTQ Scripting Library) provide the same functionality.

The event class and ID conflict with the command from the GTQ scripting library.

If you have a PPP broadband service with a monthly download limit, you may find NetTrack comes in handy.
It measures the download and upload traffic on your Internet connection and keeps a record of your traffic volume. It gives you all kinds of useful output statistics, like daily allowance, average daily usage, accumulated surplus, and more.
NetTracker runs invisibly in the background most of the time, but can present its interface on demand.
Statistics are presented in three ways: simple bytes in/out; summaries of megabytes used and remaining, and graphic meters which display at a glance when youre getting close to exceeding your limit.
Privacy Note: NetTrack measures only the volume of traffic on your connection. It does not look at the content of data in/out or record where it comes from. Also, NetTrack is completely passive; it does not send any information to anyone.

Romeo is a program which makes a recent Sony-Ericsson phone, combined with bluetooth, into an all-purpose remote for Mac OS X.
Romeo gives you remote control of your mac via Bluetooth and a compatible mobile device, controlling programs such as iTunes and DVD Player, as well as presentation applications. Use your mobile as a mouse, as a volume control, or as a method of telling your mac when youre there. If you want to add support for another application, use the built in editor - and share your new plugin with the mac community!
If you dont like the current menus, open them up, play round with them, and create your own from scratch. Romeo supports communication with other applications through Applescript, or via direct key and mouse emulation as well as a couple of other cool extras - zoom into your screen? No problem!
