If youre having problems on your system with text appearing "garbled" as in the image on my homepage (see the "More Information" link to the right), it could be caused by corrupt font cache files.

What appears to be happening is that incorrect or corrupted encoding vector information is being used when mapping the character codes as input by your keyboard to the glyphs they represent in the problematic font.

You can run Font Cache Cleaner to purge these cache files in an attempt to restore normal behavior. If you use Font Cache Cleaner but the problem remains, then it could be caused by a font conflict or by a corrupt font. Try removing fonts to isolate the problematic fonts that are causing this behavior.

An article on MacDevCenter talked about using applescript as an alternative to Safaris "Empty Cache" feature.

It unfortunately wouldve been better off as a shell script than an applescript. I rewrote the script to be more applescript-like.

Sometimes, applications such as Adobe Creative Suite will create cache files under a user login that dont actually belong to the user. This will make Yasu throw an error when trying to clear the user caches. If you run into the problem, download this simple AppleScript Applet that will correct the ownership of the cache files so they can be removed by the user.
This functionality is going to be built into the new 2.0 version of Yasu.

NetFinder Directory Cache deletes the items in the Directory Cache folder of the NetFinder 2 Preferences folder in Preferences folder.

NetFinder Directory Cache can also be configured to empty the Trash.
Note that the trash wont be emptied, if there were any other items in it, other than the ones trashed by this script.
