DVD Imager 1.6 is a smart tool with which you can create burnable DVD disk images based on a DVD video disk that you have made using iDVD, or other means. Mac OS X 10.2 is required. Just drop any VIDEO_TS folder onto its icon and choose the location where you want the image saved. Destination should be on a local volume.

DVD Imager will prompt you to name the image volume, create the disk image, then quit. If you have a DVD burner, you should then be able to create a new DVD disk using the Burn command in Disk Copy. DVD Imager doesn't have the ability to decrypt video content but there are other programs for that. DVD Imager is an Applescript Studio GUI wrapper for Jorg Schilling's mkisofs binary executable.

USB CD Burner Toggle is a AppleScript application designed to allow those who want to have both Toast or Toast Deluxe 4.1.2 and the iTunes 1.1/Disc Burner 1.0.1 CD-burning packages installed on their Macs equipped with supported USB CD burners to switch from one to the other without rebooting.

This is made possible because a full Toast installation is completely compatible with iTunes/Disc Burner with the exception of one Disc Burner extension: USB Authoring Support. If this extension is enabled, Toast usually (there are exceptional cases) will not recognize the USB CD burner, but iTunes/Disc Burner will run with no problems. If it is disabled, Toast will recognize the CD burner but Disc Burner will not run (it will display the "Insert blank media to begin" but will not go beyond this step).

The script will determine which configuration is active and allow the user to chose to maintain the status quo or to switch to the other configuration. After moving the extension, it will then instruct the user to turn off the CD burner (that is, unplug it or switch it off, depending on the burner) and then turn it on again.

I decided to create a file split and recover application when I have forced to move a >800 Mb file from a PC to my loved Apple iBook. Of course, I had no DVD burner, and Id like to split my huge file in smaller chunks.

After having searched the web I realized that there wasnt an application suitable for my needs: some applications were not free, some did not work on both (Windows and Mac OSx) platforms and most of them did not provide a simple way to recover the original file from the created fragments.

What is DMGscissor?
DMGscissor is a tool can cut DMG files into pieces.
How do I install?
Double-Click DMGscissor.pkg to install. DMGscissor will be placed into /Applications/Utilities.
How do I use DMGscissor?
Double-click DMGscissor to run the program. In the main window, select the size of the DMG segments, and then click Start button. Locate the original DMG file and select a directory for the DMG pieces.
DMGscissor will create the .dmgpart files which are the DMG pieces. Leave all those dmgpart files in the same directory. Double-click the first dmgpart file which has no sequence number. After that, the Mac OS X Finder will mount them into one DMG file.
What is the usage?
If you have a large DMG file, you can split it into several dmgpart files. That is a good way to backup your data.
A email SMTP server usually allows data size around 3 to 5 MB to be sent. A small size of dmgpart file is easy to send thru internet.
Small size dmgpart files send thru internet will not kill your network speed.
A way to burn a huge DMG file if you dont have a DVD-burner. Split the DMG files into pieces and burn them into CD-R or other media.
Split files can protect those files. Users have to collect all your files to get the information.
