Enhancements:
- MIDI Hardware: Access to MIDI hardware is gained over the Mac OS X standard known as "Core MIDI". This means that OMS, MidiManager and MidiShare is no longer needed. For the Unitor8 MkII, AMT8 and MT4, a Core MIDI-Unitor-Family-Driver is already available for USB interfacing. Core MIDI drivers are also available from other manufacturers such as Edirol, Event Electronics, Evolution, M-Audio (Midiman), Motu, Roland and Tascam. If you own another MIDI interface, check the manufacturers web site for Mac OS X compatible driver installers.
- Audio Hardware: Access to audio hardware is handled using the Mac OS X standard known as "Core Audio". This means that there is no further need for proprietary standards like ASIO, EASI or Direct I/O. There are currently Core Audio drivers for the built-in Apple audio hardware and the EMI 2|6, aswell as Core Audio drivers from other audio hardware manufacturers such as MOTU, M-Audio, Edirol and RME. xEQ is a parametric EQ/Tone Control Audio Unit. It consists of Low and High shelf filters and three Peak/Cut filters.
It is very useful for placing around distortion effects. Place one xEQ before your distortion effect to act as a preamps tone control. Place another xEQ after your distortion effect to simulate a speaker cabinets frequency response curve. We provide some example presets that are useful starting points for tailoring your tone. Presets that start with TC are tone control curves and those marked with an SC are for speaker cabinet response curves.
Enhancements:
- The parameter and label colors can now be set by the user in the registration/preferences panel. The color settings will apply to all Twister AUs so that this only needs to be changed once.
- Weve added more options for setting parameter values. Parameter displays can be still be controlled with the big knob. But, now you can now adjust parameter settings by dragging and clicking on the parameter readout. Dragging vertically changes the value quickly and dragging horizontally changes the value slowly for finer control. The values can also be adjusted with a mouse scroll wheel by hovering over the parameter readout. Scrolling vertically gives faster change and if you have the ability to scroll horizontally (a Mighty Mouse, for example), horizontal scrolling changes the value slower for finer control.
