The enemy fleet has been located under the command of Admiral Komputer, but do not yet have visual contact. The best course of action is to fire at random into their vicinity and listen for the impact of the shells, and has likewise been forced to resort to the same tactics as ourselves. It has two functions. One is the song "search-and-play" in which you type the song or artist name, hit the return key and presto your song starts playing! If more than one song matches the criteria, all matches are displayed and you make pick which one you want to play.
If you do the artist search, all songs by that particular artist is brought up. The second half is a nice and easy controller where it displays the track info, plus fast forward/next track, play/pause, rewind/back track, mute on/off and volume control.
Also in the application menu you are able to open the iTunes prefs, and use shuffle, repeat, rank current song out of 5 stars, set genre and more.

To use it for the currently showing play list you just run the script by choosing it in the Scripts menu, modify the resulting AppleWorks document as you wish, then print the document out.
If you cut the resulting page to 4.75 inches wide by 9.5 inches long and fold it in half it will be just the right size to slide into a CD case.

Anyway, Ive wanted to play it again for ages, so I set about writing my own version of it. I know there are others out there, but theyre all either not quite what Im looking for or take too long to set up and get stuck into a game. J-Battle is as simple as it gets: fire it up, select "New Game" and click where you want to shoot at. Its absolutely great if youve got a few minutes to spare or if youre bored at work! ;)
I hope you like playing J-Battle. Ill admit that its not exactly addictive, but it is very good for a quick fix if thats all youre after. If theres anything you particularly like about J-Battle, anything you want to know, have any constructive criticism or ideas for future versions, please let me know. Likewise if you would like the source code or have created an icon you think might be better. Actually, while Im on the subject of the icon, if you own the picture that the current icon came from, then Im sorry but I found the pic via Google image search a number of months ago and cant for the life of me remember where it came from! Let me know and Ill credit you or change it.
