MailPictures is a plug in for the Mail application shipping with Mac OS X. MailPictures allows you to have your image show up in your mail message when you send it to a user who has the MailPictures installed.

It works completely transparent to the user, no further intervention is required. It also uses the build in mechanism provided by Mac OS X and (optionally .Mac) for storage and display of the images (see AddressBook application for more details).

This is not only a very geeky feature of Mac OS X, but an invaluable tool to recognize people who you only know by email. The more people who are using MailPictures the better it gets. So please give it a try and let me know what you think...

Eudora 8.0.0b6 is designed to help you take full advantage of a mail and news application based on the open source Thunderbird client from Mozilla. Whereas "Eudora" is a branded version of Thunderbird with some extra features added by the Eudora developers, "Penelope" is an extension (also called an "add-on") that can be used with either Eudora or Thunderbird.

Major Features:

The Eudora installer includes the corresponding version of Penelope along with it so there is no need to install Penelope if you are installing Eudora.
Most features in Penelope can be accessed when used with Thunderbird, but there are a few that require Eudora in order to work correctly and it's not something that gets tested.
Sometimes in documentation there is a need to differentiate the older versions of Eudora made by Qualcomm from current Thunderbird-based versions of Eudora.
This will normally be done by labeling the older versions of Eudora as "original Eudora" or "Classic Eudora".

SafariDockStatus is a SIMBL plugin that automatically tallies the number of unread news items tracked by Safari 2 and updates the dock icon to reflect that number. Source code is available from the website.
You can also change the size of the label if you think thats too big and ugly, or youre a bat and you cant read it. The size is saved along with Safaris other preferences.
Unless youve already cleaned them out, by default Safari has a number of RSS feeds already in your bookmarks database. This will cause the total unread number to be oddly high initially. Open up the bookmarks editor, find the News folder, and clean out the ones you dont want, then the number will only reflect the feeds youre interested in.
Im pretty sure there arent any bugs, as this is fairly simple code, but if you do run into any problems, email me on software {at} burntout {dot} net and Ill endeavour to sort them out. This plugin works happily alongside PithHelmet and Saft; I havent tried any others, and others may or may not break it, depending on various things including the phase of the moon.
