ping
Ping 1.0.1
Ping - PNG file compressor more>>
PNG is a great format. Its lossless, patent-free, open, and supported by all sorts of stuff. Its great for screenshots, line drawings, and anything that needs to look good. Unfortunately, many programs which save to PNG format do a horrible job of it. Adobe Photoshop is one of the worst offenders, creating PNG files many times the size they should be. So we created Ping. To use it, simply drop a PNG file on it. Ping will then optimize the file, often reducing its size to a mere fraction of the original.
Unlike similar utilities, Ping is a Universal Binary. Not only that, but weve optimized OptiPNG (the underlying tech. that powers Ping) for the latest Intel chips -- taking advantage of all the cool (at least to us geeks) features thatre at the heart of Apples latest and greatest computers.
Interested? Well Ping is free -- so try it out!
Enhancements:
- Fixed bug preventing multiple file drag and drops.
Web Ping 1.0
Web Ping - Track your connection to a specific site more>>
Insted of doing an actual network ping, Web Ping tests a connection by downloading a web page on a given server. The size of the page and time are stored in memory and the times are graphed. In this way, sites that block network a ping can still be tracked.
Web Ping also keeps track of the largest and smallest download times per session and also tracks the max and min values currently on the graph. Times of interest are graphed in a color which represents if it is a max or a min. (see figure one). The history tab also lists all the max values as they have been recevied. A running average is also calculated with each download. The files downloaded are not processed or stored in any way. This prevents any security problems that can normaly happen in a web browser enviroment. The only two pecies of information retained about a downloaded file is the size and time.

Pingboard 0.5
Dashboard widget that will post your message on social bookmarks fast and easily more>> Dashboard widget that will post your message on social bookmarks fast and easily
Pingboard is a simple Mac OS X Dashboard widget for posting to the Ping.fm social aggregator service.
You can use this to post to Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, FriendFeed, and zillions more.
NOTE: Pingboard is licensed and distributed under the terms of MIT License.
Main features:
- Its a Dashboard widget, so it has that going for it
- Allows all types of posting, including custom triggers
- Keeps a message history, which you can edit and re-post in case of error or lack of creativity
- Has both a front and a back, and a previously only theorized third side for error messages
- Is not unnecessarily attractive, to discourage frivolous posting.
- Multiple account support (one per widget instance)
Enhancements
- Use new system.services API to discover information about services supported by Ping.fm.
- Allow the exclusion of certain services when posting -- click the service icon shown in the list, and that service (e.g., Twitter) will be excluded from receiving the message.
Some Javascript library changes (not end-user visible):
- actually use the Ajax queue to serialize requests if enabled
- PingFMAPI is now an instantiable object (new PingFMAPI())
- A rewrite function can be supplied to transform Ajax requests to e.g. use a proxy or have different arguments. A sample rewriter is supplied: FlexProxyRewriter. This can be useful when trying to use the Javascript library outside of dashboard, where the same-origin limitations prevent direct access to api.ping.fm.
