Piltdown is a general purpose HTML link checker. It works recursively to discover links and determine if the objects they point to are missing or relocated. Please review the readme file piltdown.txt for a full description.

Piltdown is written in Perl and will run on nearly any networked computer.

I wrote Piltdown after becoming frustrated with the alternatives. Most link checkers available on the Internet are either incomplete, inaccurate, or both. For example, certain Web servers do not respond appropriately to the HTTP "HEAD" request, so well written link checkers that depend on HEAD will report missing links where there are none. (My testing suggests that these non-compliant servers come from a certain corporation with initials "MS". Why am I not surprised?!) Another GUI based checker for OSX worked well, but flagged all relative links with a leading "/" as errors when they were not. And what about links that hide inside of CSS or javascript files? Most link checkers cant look inside these non-html files.

So there you have it. Piltdown is available for free (!), but please do not repackage or charge a fee for it. Piltdown comes without warrantee of any kind, expressed or implied. ThDomain Checker AppleScript application checks for existing domains silently in the background by testing if they are already hosted on a server in the internet.

Domain Checker has a built-in list of 252 domain suffixes as listed in the file "Built-In Suffixes". You may add own suffixes to the file "Additional Suffixes". This file will be read by Domain Checker and added to the built-in list. After all entries have been processed you may choose to view the result file that lists all checked domains or to open all valid domains in your favorite web-browser.

Some people like to insert the name of the song they are currently listening to into their e-mails. If you like to do this as well, NP Checker may be able to do the typing for you.
NP Checker is a small Utility that allows you to insert the track name and artist of the currently playing iTune into any application supporting the Services menu. With a bit of effort you can also set it up to co-operate with jukebox applications other than iTunes.

Sometimes you need to know your IP address. When youre behind a router, on a LAN, the computer will only show you the local (LAN) IP in the Settings window etc.

External IP Checker shows your EXTERNAL IP address (the IP from the WAN side), and provides a button to copy it to the clipboard.

Ive made this app because I have a dynamic IP and sometimes want to give people temporary acces to my Mac. Then, I need to know the WAN IP and I have to "surf" to my routers status page and log into it everytime to check my WAN IP. With this app, you get the same in a few seconds.
