PandoFrame allows you to place picture frames on your desktop. Its like Stickies for pictures. The picture frames set above any desktop pattern or picture you have, and can be arranged anywhere on the desktop.

FreeMat is a free environment for rapid engineering and scientific prototyping and data processing. FreeMat is similar to commercial systems such as IDL from Research Systems, and MATLAB from Mathworks, but is Open Source.
FreeMat includes several novel features such as a codeless interface to external C/C++/FORTRAN code, parallel/distributed algorithm development (via MPI), and plotting and visualization capabilities.
