Photos is a Web-based photo database for storing metadata about digital photos so you can find them again later.

It supports adding photos one at a time, or as a group by directory.

It is intended to be run locally but can be run on a remote Web server if youve got the space and the bandwidth.

photo Drop is a nice utility that creates customized, drag-and-drop droplets that turn the tedious task of modifying multiple images (and folders of images) into a simple drag-and-drop operation.
Using photo Drop, a droplet can be created in just seconds that can resize an image to new dimensions, convert the original image to a new format, rotate the image, modify the compression, and more.

For best results you may setup the application like this:

* Save pictures in the PNG format.
* Set the resolution in the preferences to the native one of the camera.
* The compression settings for the video source should be set to "no compression".

Process Photo CD is an AppleScript for PhotoFlash that will batch process a range of images from a photo CD.
It even offers the option to rotate images and run another processing script on each image as it is extracted and saved to a pre-indicated location.
