The encryption is based off of a password provided by you.
Cryption is easy-to-use cypher program that takes any text file and will letter shift it with a password that you provide. This product uses a custom-made algorithm that is offset with a password you provide on a file-by-file basis. The only person able to decypher your file and messages would be somebody who had the source password key.
Note that a simple text-shift cypher will only make the document unreadable, but not unbreakable by those who have access to high-performance computing tools. While this cypher will make it difficult for the majoirty people to read and understand your files, the method is far from invincible.

DiskLister Client 1.0r2 offers you a very useful and convenient tool which connects to DiskLister Server, sends request and get results from databases of backups and Spotlight. Search over network, search on Windows and Linux.
DiskLister Client enables you to access search and browse databases of your files over the network. Client applications are bound with Server. Clients send requests to Server and display results they get from it. They can only search and browse databases.
Client looks very similar to the Admin application. Anyway Client is for searching and browsing databases only - it's missing icons (and functions) for making databases and adding new or changing existing records.
After first run, before you can use Client, you need to set it up. Do it in Preferences window, clicking the Preferences icon. Preferences
You need to set these settings:
- User name - name of the person, that uses this copy of DiskLister Client. This name will be used in logs with user's IP.
- Network response timeout - time in microseconds, that program will wait for response from Server.
- Servers - bookmarks of your favorite DiskLister Servers. One Client can be connected to only one Server at time.
With "Remove", "Add as New" and "Confirm" buttons you can remove, add new and change existing bookmarks. Bookmark should contain 3 basic parameters:
- Bookmark name - like name of the Server. You write it directly into the field next to the popup arrow of the bookmarks.
- Server IP - you can get this information from the "My IP" field of DiskLister Server window.
- Port number - number of port on which Server should be listening. Again - you can get this information from the "Port" field of DiskLister Server window.

EntourageGPG 1.2 is a very serviceable tool to allow encryption of your email in a way that only the person you intend to read it can, and also allow "signing" of those messages, verifying your identity. GNU Privacy Guard (GPG), and all Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) implementations, use public key encryption. With public key encryption, it isn't required that the recipient of your message have a previously established password or secret. Instead, you encrypt a message with their freely-available public key, then they decrypt it with their private or secret key, which only they have access to.
The mathematics behind this are very hard to explain, but suffice to say that it is very unlikely that anyone would be able to decrypt your message. Signing consists of the same thing in reverse; a "hash", or compressed version, of your message is signed with your private key, then that hash can be decrypted by anyone with your public key and it can be verified that the message has not been modified and it is indeed yours.
