Cocoa Fortune is a Cocoa wrapper for the infamous UNIX command fortune. Fortune was/is a small utility that can display an interesting, funny or obscene message.
Many UNIX people run it as part of their login sequence so that they each morning are presented with a thought-worthy maxim to consider during the day.
Unfortunately, Apple has chosen to leave fortune out of the standard Mac OS X installation. That is why I chose to make this Cocoa wrapper for the command, so that other people than command-line freaks and programmers can enjoy the interesting comments of fortune.
I also added a few goodies, such as automatic refresh of the quote, and a user-friendly way to select the range of messages displayed.
Enhancements:
- The title bar can be removed
- The shadow can be removed
- The color of the text can be changed
- Enabled copying the current fortune without selecting the text
- Support for speech in Panther
- Can (re)generate .dat index files for fortune files, several at a time
- The fortune list management has been moved to a separate window
- Drag and drop reordering

- Instead of using the traditional fortune program, fortunes can be retreived from the Internet host with tens of thousands of quotes, described on this page: http://www.update.uu.se/cookie.html

- Leak that led to resource starvation (file handles) after some time
- Positioning (over/under the menu bar, belove the Dock)
- Minor redraw bug in preferences
- Made it easier to select fonts
- Window fits the text better, even for fortunes that lack a trailing newline
- The window can be locked to the corner of a secondary screen
- (fortune) Better randomization if called multiple times in a short time
- (fortune) Now uses the latest fortune version from the FreeBSD tree
- Added some command key shortcuts for various menu items
- Code cleanups.

Use dropArchive for a simple way to archive and compress folders/files containing both data and resource forks. Its just a wrapper for ditto which is part of all MacOS X installations.

Just drag your folder or file on to the droplet. Resulting .cpgz archives can be double-clicked in Finder for easy extraction.

DockClear began as part of Iridium. A theme for MacOSX 10.4

A few people wanted an easy way to just use the Transparent Dock part of the skin. So, I packaged it in a simple installer.

Remember to logout or restart after installing.

CamiSearch is a toolbar search engine editor for Camino.
With CamiSearch you can edit the toolbar search field in Camino.
Its the first part of the CamiTools.
Enhancements:
- Auto-encoding for URLs with an ampersend "&"
- Some minor improvements.

Still in progress, BassThing will provide the pop and jazz improvisor with that play along practice that is so ubiquituos; it differs from other software-based playalongs in that the user clicks on a staff to place the roots of choice.

The random create part puts the app in the algoithmoc composition categorie as well.

Writing Numbers Part 2 1.1 is regarded as a simple and salutary Middle-School (grades 5 through 9) math program: given the English language version of a number (e.g. one thousand sixty-five and nine tenths) students must type in the numeral (e.g. 1065.9). This program is totally free for everyone!

Tilt the floor to roll a ball through an obstacle course before time runs out. Neverball is part puzzle game, part action game, and entirely a test of skill.
Also found in the package is Neverputt, a hot-seat multiplayer miniature golf game using the physics and graphics of Neverball.
The current version includes 75 Neverball levels and 62 Neverputt levels. Thanks to Pasi Kallinen for his contribution of 2 new complete putt courses!
