A terrain generation program using multiple algorithms to generate "realistic" terrain.

HyperDither is an OS X image processing utility that converts color or grayscale images to 1 bit black & white using a sophisticated dithering routine. Specifically, HyperDither implements the "Atkinson" dithering matrix.

Way back in the early days of Macintosh, Bill Atkinson (of QuickDraw, & MacPaint fame) developed a very elegant dithering matrix to convert greyscale image data to the 1-bit black & white Mac video display. The dithering produced by this routine was much higher quality than the now-a-days ubiquitous Floyd-Steinberg filter (used by QuickTime, PhotoShop). This algorithm has been unavailable for many, many years, until now!

PixureSaver is a nice screen saver that demonstrates the use of a genetic algorithm to approximate the look of an existing image.

This is done via a simple genetic algorithm that involves an artificial organism called a Pixure (Pixel Creature). A pixel creature is an organism that can reproduce, can compete with its neighbors, and can display a color. Pixures also have an ability called accuracy, which is a measure of how close the pixures color is to the actual color of its pixel in the source image.

Primex is a lightweight program that gives you the ability to search for prime and Fibonacci numbers.
The prime-search algorithm relies on the fact that every non-prime number, can be expressed as the product of smaller prime numbers.
Primex uses a scanning algorithm, that allows it to trace every prime number it scans trough.
