Often we get the inclination to script an app while were in the midst of using it. At these times, it can mean launching Script Editor, choosing the painfully slow "Open Dictionary" dialog, and sifting through hundreds of scriptable apps to find the one you are trying to examine.

The Open This App Dictionary script does all of this for you incredibly quickly and with incredibly little script code. It simply asks what the frontmost app is, and then asks Script Editor to open its dictionary. Unfortunately, it seems to be incompatible with Apples Script Menu.

When launched, the Open Dictionary From Dock stay-open scripts do nothing but sit idle. Then, when their Dock icon is clicked, they will open the AppleScript dictionary of the frontmost application.

If the application is not scriptable, nothing much will happen. Scripts are included for Script Debugger and Script Editor version 2.

Completly freeware for personal use.

Dictionary Maker enables you to automatically build dictionaries from previously localised content.

You have access to a bundle or an Application which contains a sizeable amount of localised content. This would go a long way towards automatically localising your newest product - but you cant find the original glossaries and incremental localisation just wont work in this case.

Drop a localised bundle on Dictionary Maker and it will produce a TMX dictionary containing all the translations in the original bundle.

You can then use the dictionaries with LocFactory Editor to reduce some of the repetitive sections of your work.

TMX is an XML based Open Standard and is supported by the majority of top Translation-Memory tools.
