OpenTerminalHere is a Toolbar Script for Mac OS X 10.1 and later. In Panther / 10.3, you put it into the sidebar at the left edge of the Finder windows.

When its icon is being clicked on in the toolbar of a given directory window, it will open up a new Terminal session with that directory as working directory, i.e. it will cd there.Its also possible to drop one or more folders or other items onto the icon.

The script will open up a Terminal session in each dropped directory, and for for each non-folder item a session in the items respective parent directory.

Safe Terminal fixes a security weakness with Mac OS X Terminal utility, when it execute shell scripts without the user permission.
If Safari "Open safe files after download" is enabled, its possible to create malicious shell scripts that will be executed by the Terminal automatically after you download them. It is also possible to create malicious shell scripts that look like a document or a folder, that will be executed by Terminal on double click without warning.
After Safe Terminal is installed, the Terminal utility will not execute any file, even if "Open safe files after download" option in Safari is enabled. However, the usage of the Terminal to type and run commands is not effected in any way.
Enhancements:
- Show an alert before executing a shell script.
- test.command display also a text message.
- Improved documentation.

But with Exterminal you can. Its a Mac OS X terminal client application similar to the one supplied by Apple.

However, it runs entirely full screen, giving you that bare-bones feel. It also supports multiple sessions.

There are no Preferences or modifiable settings -- this is just a quick hack. The terminal emulation code is based on CocoaTechs CocoaTechTerminal class, which in turn is based on the open-source iTerm client. The code to Exterminal is also open-source under the Free Software Foundations GNU General Public License.

Terminal Themes 1.0 gives users the convenience of telnet launchers by editing ".term" files and dropping them in a certain location. What's more, with .term files you are not limited to telnet or ssh sessions. Any terminal command can be excecuted from the .term file. Also, you can set the font, the color schemes, the window title, the window transparency, and more for each session in a term file.

That said, it can be a bit of a task to create these .term files from scratch. For that reason, Wooden Brain Concepts is releasing the collection of .term file templates, with some explanation about how to install and edit them.
