Pocket Cache 1.3
Pocket Cache - fast and easy way to protect private data from prying eyes more>>
When you launch Pocket Cache, you see a log-in window. The password must be at least eight and no more than twelve alphanumeric characters. The first time you log in, you are asked if you want to use this password for this and future sessions. If you click on the "OK" button, your password is saved in a protected manner and My Secret Info window opens.
You can type or paste text (no photos) into the My Secret Info window which will scroll as necessary. When you are finished entering information, click on the red (close) window button to save the information in a protected manner and close the application.
If you want a fresh start, the password and information files can be deleted using the Reset All menu pick before you enter your password.
Drilx O Matic 0.9
Drilx O Matic - Random lounge grooves player more>>
This was shorter than some other Z-o-Matic experiments in groove, but still includes dozens of technod songs that will have you and your friends lounging around the computer, hopefully with a little twist.
You just need to reload the widget to get a random song (Apple-r keys on Dashboard) that will make your booty move. Depending on your Internet connection speed, the sound will play once the audio stream is OK.
Pachyderm 1
Pachyderm is a small utility that quickly checks your system clock to make sure its sane more>>
To use it, simply run it. If Pachyderm thinks your system clock is screwed up, it will ask you to change or confirm it. If the system clock seems OK, Pachyderm will exit without any user action.
One good use for Pachyderm is to put it into your login items so that it runs every time you log in (and, by extension, every time you reboot).
NoDesktopCleanup 1.5
NoDesktopCleanup - Control panel that lets you add a confirmation dialog or a KeyQuencer Macro to any menu item more>>
The unusual name comes from the original task I wrote this control panel for: disabling the annoying Clean Up Desktop and Clean Up All menu items in the Finder, which often make ones life miserable by moving all the icons on the desktop away from their carefully chosen locations.
You can run KeyQuencer Macros whenever a menu item is selected, either as an addition to the original command or as a custom replacement.
NoDesktopCleanup also provides a useful auto-confirm timer which prevents your Mac from hanging forever when its working alone and theres no user to press the OK or Cancel buttons.
polyparse 1.3
This is a collection of parser combinator libraries in Haskell. more>>
polyparse 1.3 is an ideal tool for programmers. It is actually a free and open source project that includes a variety of alternative parser combinator libraries, including the original HuttonMeijer set.
The Poly sets have features like good error reporting, arbitrary token type, running state, lazy parsing, and so on. Finally, Text.Parse is a proposed replacement for the standard Read class, for better deserialisation of Haskell values from Strings.
Please note that polyparse is licensed and distributed under the terms of the LGPL license.
Some Functionality:
- Text.ParserCombinators.Poly - Currently re-exports Text.ParserCombinators.Poly.Plain. The name Poly comes from the arbitrary token type. Thus, you can write your own lexer if you wish, rather than needing to encode lexical analysis within the parser itself.
- Text.ParserCombinators.Poly.Plain - This is a fresh set of combinators, improving on the HuttonMeijer variety by keeping only a single success, not a list of them. This is more space-efficient, whilst still permitting backtracking. Error-handling is also much improved: there are essentially two kinds of failure, soft and hard. Soft failure just means that the current parse did not work out, but another parse might be OK. Hard failure means that no parse will succeed, because we have already passed a point of commitment. Thus you can give far more accurate error messages to the user, including multi-layered locations.
- Text.ParserCombinators.Poly.State - This is just like Poly, except it adds an arbitrary running state parameter.
- Text.ParserCombinators.Poly.Lazy - This is just like Poly, except it does not return explicit failures. Instead, an exception is raised. Thus, it can return a partial parse result, before a full parse is complete. The word partial indicates that, having committed to return some outer data constructor, we might later discover some parse error further inside, so the value will be partial, as in incomplete: containing bottom. However, if you are confident that the input is error-free, then you will gain hugely in space-efficiency - essentially you can stream-process your parsed data-structure within very small constant space. This is especially useful for large structures like e.g. XML trees.
Enhancements:
- Single bugfix: Text.Parse.parseFloat now accepts ordinary floating point notation, in addition to scientific (exponent) notation.
Requirements:
- GHC

Podestal for OSX 0.1
Podestal allows one to easily download any files stored on Apples iPod. The application provides two views into the files on an iPod; a file view and a music view more>> Podestal allows one to easily download any files stored on Apples iPod. The application provides two views into the files on an iPod; a file view and a music view. The file centric view works much like the Finders list view. The music view parses the ID3 tags associated with the MP3 files and organizes the various mp3 tracks by Artist, Album and, finally, tracks.
An icon view at the bottom of the window allows the current selection to be copied via drag and drop. Anything that can accept filenames via the clipboard can be a drag target; Finder, Mail messages, etc. Multiple files or music tracks can be selected.
Podestal scans for a mounted iPod when launched. As well, the application should detect and automatically display the contents of any iPod that is hot-connected to the machine. Podestal also listens for unmount events and updates its display accordingly. FireWire Disk Use must be enabled for Podestal to work! Conveniently, if Podestal is running and you enable FireWire Disk Use and click OK, Podestal will receive a mount notification and update itself appropriately. Likewise, if you disable the ability for the iPod to act as a FireWire Disk, Podestal will correctly update the display.
MacOS X 10.1 or later.
