- Splunk Servers older than 2.2.3 had problems authenticating users in LDAP when those users map to more then one Splunk role or when a user is a member of multiple groups and only one group maps to a Splunk role. Splunk Server 2.2.6 solves this problem and provides more information about user mapping when debug logging is in effect.
- Splunk Servers older than 2.2.3 configured to use an LDAP server that accepts anonymous binds allowed a user to login to Splunk without a password. Splunk Server 2.2.6 blocks all attempts at login without as password.
- Splunk Servers older than 2.2.3 had a problem where Splunks password file could become corrupted if edits were made and more than 10 users existed. Splunk Server 2.2.6 fixes this problem and will not corrupt the password file when there are more than 10 users.

Portable Newspeak is Newspeak Cocoa IRC client for Mac OS X packaged as portable application so you can carry around with you on any portable device, USB thumb drive, iPod, portable hard drive,memory card, other portable device (also on your internal hard disk) as long as it has 2 MB of free space and use on any Mac OS X computer, taking your IRC servers, channels list and saved transcrip with you.
How to install
1. Drag "Portable Newspeak" folder to your portable device, USB thumb drive, iPod, portable hard drive, memory card, other portable device (also to your internal hard disk) as long as it has 2 MB of free space.
2. Clicking "Portable Newspeak" will open Newspeak from your portable device, wait a while before Newspeak start.
3. If a local copy of Newspeak is running an alert window allow you to quit it.
Using your data
You can copy your IRC servers, channels list and saved transcript to Portable Newspeak when "Copy preferences" window ask you. So, if you wish to use your IRC servers, channels list, saved transcript and preferences you already have on your system, just click "Yes" when prompt.
Newspeak application and preference file are inside the bundle: PortableNewspeak.app/Contents/Resources/app/

BwanaDik is an IP address (WAN and LAN) menu item. Yes, another IP address app. Just what the world needs. You may be asking yourself "why the heck does the world need another IP address application?" Well, it doesnt. But I did. I looked all over for an IP address app that met my needs, and never found one. So I wrote my own. Heres what I wanted in an IP app:
Small, simple, and resides in the menu bar Monitors my network for a good connection. If the connection is lost, let me know with an alert the second it comes back online.
Quickly copy my WAN and LAN IP address to the menu bar.
The second point is the most important, which is really why I wrote this thing. See, I work at a coffee shop that has a really crappy DSL line, and an even crappier Airport Base Station.
The connection comes and goes every 5 minutes. And there is nothing more frustrating than opening up Safari and typing in a search in the google bar only to be slapped with an alert sheet saying the site cannot be found. Then I have to sit around watching my Network control panel to see when Im back online again, because a lot of times the info I need on the web is for work.
Now, with BwanaDik, I can look at the menu bar and know right away if I can access the internet or not. Even better, when my network is back online, BwanaDik lets me know right away with an alert window. So now I can keep typing code and when the network is ready, I can go do my searches and whatnot.
So, yes, there are a lot of IP address apps out there. Im sure they are all great. But this one does exactly what I want it to. It probably doesnt do what you want, but thats OK with me. No other features will be added to BwanaDik anyway.
