New Metaphor was originally released as a comprehensive system-replacement icon set for Mac OS 8.5 - 9.x. It attempted to replace the office/desktop approach to user-computer interaction with something more horticultural. Interesting though the experiment was, OS X has changed enough of the Mac file system that most of the conventions have been rendered obsolete.
However, I felt the images themselves could still contribute something to the Aqua experience, and chose the most compelling designs for a 128x128 enhancement.
Completly freeware for personal use.

Newer GURU 2.9 brings about a professional and polished tool to help you with determining all possible memory upgrades for Macintosh, Macintosh compatibles and Apple Power Books. It is a stand-alone application that runs on 68K and PPC Macs. When GURU is launched, it displays a floating palette like the one shown to the left. This palette is composed of a dozen and a half pop-up menus. Each pop-up represents a family of computers.
To help determine your next memory upgrade, simply choose the family which contains the computer you are interested in. Click and hold on the pop-up family. A list will appear which contains all members of that family. Slide the mouse to the desired machine and release the button. You will immediately be presented with the main information screen.

Calculates and displays the Date, time and Lunar Latitude per month for a given year (includes offsets from Prime Meridian and either UT or local time).
The routines are written in BASIC, are not object oriented and make some assumptions about both software and hardware platforms.
Lunar orbital accuracy is a non-trivial task. The equations for New Moon Dates are derived from the equations used in the book: "Astronomy with Your Personal Computer" by Peter Duffett-Smith.The accuracy claimed in the book is accurate to within two minutes (page 172 of the second edition).The information displayed is the date of the New Moon and the New Moons latitude.You will have to decide if this is enough accuracy for your needs.
Enhancements:
- Added Daylight Savings Time and an indicator to show when it has affected the date shown.
