Big Business 7.01 lends you the chance of using such a useful business management solution that can integrate four critical business functions--sales, purchasing, inventory, and accounting eliminating redundancy, automating workflow, and increasing productivity by centralizing important data in a single system that can grow as companies expand.
Big Business is available in single-user and multi-user, client/ versions. Business owners can start with the single-user version and then move to the multi-user version and add users as their companies grow.
Major Features:
- Internet:
- Big Business automates the process of creating and maintaining an online catalog of products or services on the Internet. Big Business exports items, item descriptions, prices, and pictures into formatted HTML (Hyper-Text Markup Language). In plain English, that means Big Business makes Web pages of the products you sell.
- You simply click a button and Big Business creates three-level Web pages with the proper links. You select which items you want to export. You can also have Big Business create a "What's New or Hot" category for a product, as well as have it appear under its normal category. When you add new products or change prices, you select an option and Big Business creates new Web pages, ready to copied to your Web Server or Internet Service Provider (ISP). You also have the option of editing the Big Business Web page templates.
- Payroll Interface: Big Business connects to leading payroll products from Aatrix Software (Macintosh only) and CheckMark Software, Inc. Big Business imports paycheck and journal information directly from the payroll systems, so you can perform your company's payroll in-house, saving you time and money.
- Reports and Forms Designer: A built-in reports and forms designer allows you to create custom reports and forms. The designer is a full-featured, WYSIWYG report writer that has access to all the information in Big Business. You can use and modify any of the pre-made reports and forms templates or create your own custom ones. You can even import forms that other users or consultants have created in their version of Big Business.
- Import Quicken Data: To upgrade your system to Big Business, you can now easily import Quicken data during setup.
- Expanded Export and Import Capabilities:
- You can export nearly any information from Big Business in tab-delimited format, including names, addresses, balances, phone numbers, information regarding different transactions, custom field entries, terms, departments, ship methods, and more.
- You can also import tab-delimited data from any type of program, including contact managers, accounting programs, spreadsheets, or databases. General journal entries can be imported from another payroll or fixed asset module.
- International Currency Support: Big Business supports the currency symbols for 16 English speaking countries. You can specify which country's formatting to use and customize the formatting of quantities, amounts, and totals. You can change the date formatting in all date fields to coincide with the country's date setting.
- International Taxation: Big Business handles VAT tax, particularly any requirements needed to meet Canada's tax regulations, including the ability to pay tax on a tax. This feature allows you to have an unlimited number of taxing entities per tax.
- Multiple Bill To/Ship To Addresses: Big Business allows you to use customer and vendor contact addresses as additional bill to/ship to addresses. An easy-to-use popup window makes selecting the address fast and saves you from retyping the information.
- Royalties You can add royalty rates or amounts by item and create a royalty report on sales by item.
- Commissions: Commission codes and rates can be added to employee cards, allowing you to decide if commissions are calculated on sales, profits and sales, or paid invoices. You can also generate a variety of commission reports.
- Strong Security: Big Business gives administrators complete control over the access individual users have to tabs, fields, tools, and toolbars. Each user can be required to enter a unique password before even entering Big Business.
- Long Item Descriptions: Item descriptions can be up to 32K, which is approximately one page of text. Use this feature to enter technical specifications or detailed telemarketing scripts about an item.
- Long Comment Fields:
- You can include long comment fields of up to 32K on quote, order, and invoice line items. This feature is especially helpful for entering long comments or technical specifications about an item.
- You specify if you want a long item description loaded into the line item comments field, allowing you to store technical specifications in the item master and print them on forms.
- Printed Comments Notification: You can see if a quote, order, or invoice has a printed comment. The Printed Comment icon at the bottom of all entry screens now displays that comments have been entered.
- Memorize/Recall Searches: You can memorize and recall frequently-used searches.
- Convert Contacts: At the click of a button, you can easily convert contacts into vendors or customers. You save time from re-entering data when the relationship with the contact changes.
- Pricing Flexibility: Big Business lets set different price levels for different types of customers. You can also override the default price level on individual quotes, orders, or invoices.
- New Notes Alert: You are alerted to new notes that have arrived from other users. You simply specify how often you want to be notified.
- Other Charges Field: Big Business lets you calculate any charge based on weight, subtotal, total, and taxable amount. The charge can be calculated based on a percentage or an amount and is especially helpful when calculating freight costs.
- Weight Field: A weight field calculates the weight of each line item, which can be used by the Other Charges field to calculate freight charges.
- More Printing Options: A new user preference allows you to set up different printing defaults for quotes, orders, or invoices. You can also have Big Business print multiple copies of quotes, orders, or invoices by selecting the number of printouts for each form.
- Multi-Level Credit Management: You have complete control customer credit levels with the credit hold feature and comprehensive credit manager.
- Additional Chart of Accounts: Big Business offers 90 industry-specific chart of accounts for all types of companies.
- Flexible History Viewing: You can tell Big Business to display transaction histories for customers, vendors, and items for a certain number of days. By setting a date limit, you actually speed operations, as Big Business no longer needs to display the entire transaction history of the customer, vendor, or item.
- Improved Credit Management: Customers don't pay? You can place them on credit hold and control how the credit limit/credit hold is used. You have three options for customers who have exceeded their credit limits or are on credit hold: ignore the conditions and not display a message; issue a warning; or prohibit entry of transactions for customers who exceed the credit limit or have been put on credit hold.
- More Decimal Places: You can establish the number of decimal places you want Big Business to calculate, particularly for quantities, unit price/cost, average cost, and extended price and cost.
- Display Employee Check History: For payroll purposes, you can display employee checks that have been imported by the payroll system or by the Miscellaneous Checks tool.
- Modify Selections: After performing a quick search, you can apply a value to the records displayed. This feature is especially useful for updating data in groups.
- Credit Card Transfers: Transfer on credit card prints checks to pay credit card bills.
- Save to Disk: All reports can be saved to disk for further manipulation and analysis in another program.
Enhancements:
- Is a second Beta release for additional testing with a newly Snow Leopard-certified engine update. If you installed the previous Beta, all Clients need to be updated.

Ratproxy 1.58
Open Source web app security audit program more>> Open Source web app security audit program
Ratproxy is a semi-automated, largely passive web application security audit tool. It is meant to complement active crawlers and manual proxies more commonly used for this task.
Ratproxy is optimized specifically for an accurate and sensitive detection, and automatic annotation, of potential problems and security-relevant design patterns based on the observation of existing, user-initiated traffic in complex web 2.0 environments.
Detects and prioritizes broad classes of security problems, such as dynamic cross-site trust model considerations, script inclusion issues, content serving problems, insufficient XSRF and XSS defenses, and much more.
Ratproxy is currently believed to support Mac OS X, FreeBSD, Linux, and Windows (Cygwin) environments.
The approach taken with ratproxy offers several important advantages over more traditional methods:
- No risk of disruptions. In the default operating mode, tool does not generate a high volume of attack-simulating traffic, and as such may be safely employed against production systems at will, for all types of ad hoc, post-release audits. Active scanners may trigger DoS conditions or persistent XSSes, and hence are poorly suited for live platforms.
- Low effort, high yield. Compared to active scanners or fully manual proxy-based testing, ratproxy assessments take very little time or bandwidth to run, and proceed in an intuitive, distraction-free manner - yet provide a good insight into the inner workings of a product, and the potential security vulnerabilities therein. They also afford a consistent and predictable coverage of user-accessible features.
- Preserved control flow of human interaction. By silently following the browser, the coverage in locations protected by nonces, during other operations valid only under certain circumstances, or during dynamic events such as cross-domain Referer data disclosure, is greatly enhanced. Brute-force crawlers and fuzzers usually have no way to explore these areas in a reliable manner.
- WYSIWYG data on script behavior. Javascript interfaces and event handlers are explored precisely to a degree they are used in the browser, with no need for complex guesswork or simulations. Active scanners often have a significant difficulty exploring JSON responses, XMLHttpRequest() behavior, UI-triggered event data flow, and the like.
- Easy process integration. The proxy can be transparently integrated into an existing manual security testing or interface QA processes without introducing a significant setup or operator training overhead.
NOTE: Ratproxy is licensed and provided under the terms of the Apache License 2.0.
Joomla 1.5.11
Build a professional Web site. more>>
Joomla 1.5.11 is the most comprehensive, user friendly and fast solution for building professional Web sites.
A content management system is software that keeps track of every piece of content on your Web site, much like your local public library keeps track of books and stores them. Content can be simple text, photos, music, video, documents, or just about anything you can think of. A major advantage of using a CMS is that it requires almost no technical skill or knowledge to manage. Since the CMS manages all your content, you don't have to.
Joomla is used all over the world to power Web sites of all shapes and sizes. For example:
- Corporate Web sites or portals
- Corporate intranets and extranets
- Online magazines, newspapers, and publications
- E-commerce and online reservations
- Government applications
- Small business Web sites
- Non-profit and organizational Web sites
- Community-based portals
- School and church Web sites
- Personal or family homepages
Major Features:
- User Management
- Joomla has a registration system that allows users to configure personal options. There are nine user groups with various types of permissions on what users are allowed to access, edit, publish and administrate.
- Authentication is an important part of user management and Joomla support multiple protocols, including LDAP, OpenID, and even Gmail. This allows users to use their existing account information to streamline the registration process.
- Media Manager: The Media Manager is the tool for easily managing media files or folders and you can configure the MIME type settings to handle any type of file. The Media Manager is integrated into the Article Editor tool so you can grab images and other files at any time.
- Language Manager: There is international support for many world languages and UTF-8 encoding. If you need your Web site in one language and the administrator panel in another, multiple languages are possible.
- Banner Management: It's easy to set up banners on your Web site using the Banner Manager, starting with creating a client profile. Once you add campaigns and as many banners as you need, you can set impression numbers, special URLs, and more.
- Contact Management: The Contact Manager helps your users to find the right person and their contact information. It also supports multiple contact forms going to specific individuals as well as groups.
- Polls: If you want to find out more about your users, it's easy to create polls with multiple options.
- Search: Help navigate users to most popular search items and provide the admin with search statistics.
- Web Link Management: Providing link resources for site users is simple and you can sort them into categories, even count every click.
- Content Management
- Joomla's simplified three-tiered system of articles makes organizing your content a snap. You can organize your content any way you want and not necessarily how it will be on your Web site. Your users can rate articles, e-mail them to a friend, or automatically save a PDF (with UTF-8 support for all languages). Administrators can archive content for safekeeping, hiding it from site visitors.
- On public Web sites, built-in e-mail cloaking protects email addresses from spambots.
- Creating content is simple with the WYSIWYG editor, giving even novice users the ability to combine text, images in an attractive way. Once you've created your articles, there are a number of pre-installed modules to show the most popular articles, latest new items, newsflashes, related articles, and more.
- Syndication and Newsfeed Management: With Joomla, it's easy to syndicate your site content, allowing your users to subscribe to new content in their favorite RSS reader. It's equally easy to integrate RSS feeds from other sources and aggregate them all on your site.
- Menu Manager: The Menu Manager allows you to create as many menus and menu items as you need. You can structure your menu hierarchy (and nested menu items) completely independent of your content structure. Put one menu in multiple places and in any style you want; use rollovers, dropdown, flyouts and just about any other navigation system you can think of. Also automatic breadcrumbs are generated to help navigate your site users.
- Template Management: Templates in Joomla are a powerful way to make your site look exactly the way you want and either use a single template for the entire site or a separate template for each site section. The level of visual control goes a step further with powerful template overrides, allowing you to customize each part of your pages.
- Integrated Help System: Joomla has a built-in help section to assist users with finding what they need. A glossary explains the terms in plain English, a version checker makes sure you're using the latest version, a system information tool helps you troubleshoot, and, if all else fails, links to a wealth of online resources for additional help and support.
- System Features
- Speedy page loads are possible with page caching, granular-level module caching, and GZIP page compression.
- If your system administrator needs to troubleshoot an issue, debugging mode and error reporting are invaluable.
- The FTP Layer allows file operations (like installing Extensions) without having to make all the folders and files writable, making your site administrator's life easier and increasing the security of your site.
- Administators quickly and efficiently communicate with users one-on-one through private messaging or all site users via the mass mailing system.
- Web Services: With Web services, you can use Remote Procedure Calls (via HTTP and XML). You can also integrate XML-RPC services with the Blogger and Joomla APIs.
- Powerful Extensibility: These are just some of the basic Joomla features and the real power is in the way you customize Joomla. Visit the Joomla Extensions Directory to see thousands of ways to enhance Joomla to suit your needs.

WysGui 2.2.2
This is a completely free and customizable CMS. more>>
Major Features:
- Lean, Fast, and Just Plain Easy-to-use!
- When Ease & Simplicity Matter - WysGui is a great example of this. There are ways to tell a server to save a simplified snapshot of a page for future access. If that was the only thing wysgui did, it would run almost as fast as the same thing without server-side code. However it's not the only thing. It also gets properly cached by the visitors browser, making it even faster! Studies show that web-sites which load faster are more likely to keep their users involved.
- WysGui is very easy to use. An eleven year old can get the hang of most things quite quickly.
- Content Management - A Blog? An Information Source? A Little Bit of Both?
- With WysGui, there's a WYSIWYG editor that will let you do just about any of those things- including uploading of images, flash, and other allowed file-types. No need for any coding or HTML knowledge there. Every strong CMS has this functionality as well- That's not what makes WysGui special.
- With WysGui, you have full control of the order in which your content displays. That allows you to order the articles any which way, with little effort and no coding knowledge.
- When it gets to the point where a piece of content can't handle it all, for example if Server-Side code or head tag data, is needed, then modules come in.
- Developer-Friendliness - Create Modules directly in WysGui
- No coding knowledge is needed to move around and organize modules. Just like content, it's mostly common sense.
- For the developers, WysGui makes it very easy to create a web-site quickly. It's been said, "If you've ever used a CMS and wished you could do more, WysGui is for you." That's because the versatility never ends with WysGui. It's a web-based system that can be accessed and managed through any computer with internet access. You don't need to be on a computer with Notepad++, Dreamweaver, Microsoft Word, and FTP software. You can manage your site's core functions and abilities directly through the Admin Panel. The code editor is color coded, and provides a syntax highlight for many different coding languages.
- The lack of dependencies of outside software for developers makes WysGui a very powerful tool, with allot of potential.
-
- Settings, which are declared before everything.
- Action, which is declared after settings, but before any mark-up.
- Head Data, which includes any JavaScript, CSS, or anything in the HEAD tags.
- Form/Content, which is the main display for the module. That's actually what gets sorted with the content.
- It may be hard to comprehend at first, but as far as web-sites go, with just these four sections, almost anything can be done.
- Theme Control - A Web Designers Paradise
- Themes are fully customizable with WysGui. They consist of templates and style-sheets. Each one can be edited directly in the admin panel. A theme can have multiple styles.
- An example of using this setup would be a theme with a set of different colors in the style-sheet. Or maybe a theme with different parent organization on the template. If you have 2 templates, and 5 different style-sheets, that equals 10 options for skins.
- Some HTML and CSS knowledge is required to manage themes in WysGui, though is not required to attach a theme to a page.

- File Management
- WysGui has a strong back-end. The Brain of the operation, and everything else is accessible through the site tree. The Site tree is basically an icon powered site-map. It's designed in a file/folder type structure. It shows you first all of your main data-powered pages, and in the second section is shows all of the files & folders starting at your site root.
- You can navigate through folders, files, and images. When a file is selected, a text editor pops up allowing you to edit your files. Now, for videos and images it's kind of weird seeing all those weird characters, and nobody can go through and edit that. The purpose of that functionality is to allow admins to go through and have full control of data files. The engines running the site are also accessible, and virtually anything can be edited this way, but as mentioned before, images and video and such formats need to be edited with the proper tools on a local computer.

- The Conclusion - All-and-all, it's a pretty strong system.
- Though there are other Content Management Systems that cover a vast variety of other tools, communities, and structure, WysGui should stick out to be a good competitor. Though it's smaller, has allot less features, and doesn't have a wide variety of people developing software for it, it does have allot to offer, and if given the chance of having a community, could explode into a widely used system.

Enhancements
- Content Versioning
- The Html Content and Blog features now support keeping a history of every edit (like a wiki). You can compare any historical version of the content to the current version and you can restore any version to the editor so that you can restore it as it is by saving it or modify it further then save it. Versioning can be enabled at the feature instance level or it can be enforced site wide from Site Settings or it can be enforced from Web.config. Site administrators and content administrators can delete history but no other roles are allowed to delete the history. The ContentHistory is built into the core so that it does not have to be re-implemented for each feature. Each feature does implement its own UI to show or restore the previous versions, but they leverage common business classes to store and retrieve their history. In the future we will implement versioning for product and offer descriptions in the WebStore, developers may also leverage this in their own features to keep version history for their own feature data. This is one more thing to mark off our Road Map as complete. Next up is a general Content Tagging/Category system that can be re-used across features, and a Content Comment system that can be re-used across features.
- Web Chat using Windows Live Messenger
- See my previous post for more information about the new Chat feature. This was not even on the roadmap but when I saw how easy it was to implement I decided to work on it. It was fun and it only took a few days. One of the things I like best about my job is that I can just decide to work on something for a few days because its fun.
- New PlugNPay Payment Gateway in WebStore thanks to Voir Hillaire
- New Skin - dcarter-bluedesert, based on dcarter-ticktockpro but modified and contributed by Sami Isamil Hassan
- Various minor enhancements based on feedback and fixes for bugs reported in the forums since the last release.
- More progress moving away from ExtJs by implementing some .NET controls for YUI to replace the ones I previously built for ExtJs
- Some of you may have checked out my Site Office UI prototype in the past. Its a separate plug in system than the main content system designed more for a consistent application user interface rather than for creative design like we use for the public facing web site via our skins. You can see the Site Office layout on this site or the demo site if you login and click the "Site Office" link at the top of the page, or you can look at the origianl layout demo for ExtJs here. I still have not implemented any real features for Site Office, but the plug in system itself works and Ive even received emails from developers who have implemented their own plug features using it. I got kind of side tracked off of the Site Office idea partly because I had spent quite a bit of time implementing .NET wrapper cntrols around the ExtJs javascript to make it easy to use and then the ExtJs project changed their license to GPL which is not compatible with our CPL license, so I could no longer get upgrades of ExtJs and include them with mojoPortal. Since then weve been stuck on version 2.0.2 of ExtJs which was the last version they shipped under the LGPL (which was compatible). I had also used a little ExtJs in the Contact Form for the messaage list page. For a long time Ive been thinking I really need to build new .NET wrapper controls with similar functionality but using the YUI javascript instead of ExtJs.
- So again in the name of fun (because I like building .NET controls around javascript) I spent some time implementing some new controls with YUI to replace the ExtJs stuff Ive been using. I have now removed the dependency on ExtJs from the Contact Form feature and Ive got a good start on the layout framework to replace the current SiteOffice. I still have more work to do to finish, but the goal will be to eliminate all use of ExtJs in favor of YUI. The ExtJs javascript we include in mojoPortal is 6.36 MB, so it will reduce the size of our downloads once we no longer need to it. Anyway, you can see the work Ive done so far on the YUI layout here, its very similar as you can see to the current Site Office layout with ExtJs. Once I get some more of the YUI things wrapped up so they are easy to use, I might even change the site administration area so that it uses this kind of layout instead of the site skin.
- New Experimental CKEditor
- Some of you may have noticed that the FCKeditor project has shifted gears from the next upgrade of FCKeditor to their next generation version named CKEditor. I think they are basically taking the good parts from the FCKeditor implementation but doing a new redesign of the implementation using things they have learned and new techniques that have emerged to improve the architecture. The CKEditor does not yet have image upload or server browsing so I have disabled it by default, but anyone who really wants to check it out can un-comment it in the mojoEditor.config file in the root of the web. It really looks just like the FCKeditor but does not have all the functionality yet, I just figured it was good to get started with it so we can be ready as they make imporvements.

This approach gives a lot of opportunities for document rendering, such as localized generated content, profiled views, composition of a document from multiple chunks, in-line attribute editing, and others.
Serna offers exceptional DITA 1.1 support and comes with integrated DITA Open Toolkit. Flexible visualization of DITA maps and topics with the ability to resolve referred content and in-place editing of local conrefs greatly simplify DITA authoring.
Key Features: Available for MacOS X, Linux, Microsoft Windows (2000, XP, Vista), and Sun Solaris/SPARC; Built-in support for all popular document types (DITA, Docbook, XHTML, TEI P4, NITF, etc); On-the-fly Schema validation; Context-sensitive element help; Entity and XInclude in-place editing; Drag-and-drop with on-the-fly validation; UNICODE support and multilingual spell checking; User interface localized into several languages (including Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Igbo, Italian, Norwegian, Russian, Swedish)
