iNMR 3.2.2
iNMR is known as a high-quality tool which brings users a lot of benefits. more>>
iNMR 3.2.2 is known as a high-quality tool which brings users a lot of benefits. Today you can find many alternative NMR applications that run on Mac OS X, and all of them have been ported from some other operative system. Under a minimal cosmetic retouch, they still sport the original interface, be it X11, Windows95 or Windows XP. Some alternatives are written in Java, take a lot of memory and execute slowly. Avoid them all. iNMR is the only native Mac OS X application, written with the Macintosh in mind.
Major Features:
- iNMR directly interacts with the system frameworks, without intermediate layers. As a result, it takes less memory and is fast even on the oldest machine.
- Being the only application that follows the Apple Guidelines, its interface is consistent with those of other Mac applications.
- iNMR supports the latest Apple hardware (like the Intel Core Duo and the Mighty Mouse) and software, like Spotlight, QuickLook and the Accelerate framework. Don't renounce to things you have already paid for.
- You are better served. The program has been written specifically for you. If you need a tailored modification it can be implemented simply and swiftly, because there is one version only, not three of them. Should you choose a cross-platform product, you'd likely discover that the Mac version is the less tested, less supported, less updated one.
- Most so-called "compatible" programs require a two-buttons mouse. Are you really willing to buy new hardware? To change your habit?
- The number of included functionalities is so high that most users haven't even explored all of them. Other capabilities are being added at a fast pace. As a result, you should never compare two products by their functionalities, because they are continuously changing, but by their look and feel, which remains more constant and which eventually determines your productivity.
- Your investment into iNMR is well protected. There has always been an mutual exchange of know-how and solutions between the maker of iNMR and Mestrelab (maker of Mestre-C and MestreNova). If the latter products contain a feature that you deem useful, you can ask for its inclusion into iNMR.
- iNMR is compatible with your favorite programs: you can export iNMR spectra into Excel, OpenOffice Calc, Sparky, CARA, etc...
- The points above have not been written to convince you to buy a more expensive product. Luckily, iNMR is one of the cheaper commercial NMR programs!

Plone 3.3. RC2 / 3.2.2
Content management for web publishing and Zope server more>> Content management for web publishing and Zope server
Plone is a content management system for web publishing and the Zope application server.
The system provides pre-configured security and roles, a set of content types, and multi-lingual support, among other features. Plone is available under both GPL and commercial licenses.
Main features:
- Plone is flexible and powerful. It is ideal as an intranet and extranet server, as a document publishing system, a portal server and as a groupware tool for collaboration between separately located entities.
- Plone is easy to use. The Plone Team includes usability experts who have made Plone easy and attractive for content managers to add, update, and maintain content.
- Plone is easy to install. You can install Plone with a click-and-run installer, and have a content management system running on your computer in just a few minutes.
- Plone is international. The Plone interface has more than 50 language translations, and tools for managing multilingual content.
- Plone is supported. There are close to a hundred developers in the Plone Development Team around the world, and hundreds of companies specializing in Plone development and support.
- Plone is standard. Plone carefully follows standards for usability and accessibility. Plone pages are compliant with US Section 508, and the W3Cs AA rating for accessibility, in addition to using best-practice web standards like XHTML and CSS.
- Plone is Open Source. Plone is licensed under the GNU General Public License, the same license Linux uses. This gives you the right to use Plone without a license fee, and to improve upon the product.
- Plone is extensible. There are many add-on products for Plone that add new features and content types. In addition, Plone can be scripted using web standard solutions and Open Source languages.
- Plone is technology neutral. Plone can interoperate with most relational database systems, open source and commercial, and runs on a vast array of platforms, including Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, Solaris and BSD.
- Plone is protected. The nonprofit Plone Foundation was formed in 2004 to promote the use of Plone around the world and protect the Plone IP and trademarks.
Enhancements
- This is not a final release. Experimental releases should only be used for testing and development. Do not use these on production sites, and make sure you have proper backups before installing.
- After Plone 3.2 (which focused on packaging/installer improvements), this is a minor release that adds some new features. It does not include any major changes: all products that work with Plone 3.0, 3.1 & 3.2 should also work in Plone 3.3. The upgrade from Plone 3.x is simple and non-invasive, ensuring a smooth upgrade experience.
Feature enhancements in this release:
Link type should automatically redirect when accessed directly:
- Links should be capable of doing automatic redirection.
Resource Registries Improvements:
- Allow Resource Registries to use conditional comments for CSS to bring the IEFixes.css into the registry and allow external references to resources for all registries.
Standardizing our use of INavigationRoot:
- Plone has the INavigationRoot marker interface which supports rooting your tabs, navigation, breadcrumbs, sitemaps and searches to a specific container inside of a portal which itself is a INavigationRoot. Some areas of this need to be cleaned up and standardized to follow a consistent convention.
Minor i18n upgrades:
- Include PloneLanguageTool 3.0 and PTS 1.5.
Disable inline editing by default:
- The current inline editing behaviour as introduced in Plone 3 was a mistake: it is a cool technology to show off, but in practice accidental clicks very frequently lead to unwanted edit-screens.
Adapterise the Extensible Indexable Object Wrapper:
- Make it easier to register ExtensibleIndexableObjectWrapper attributes with adapters
Improve locking configurability:
- This PLIP proposes to a) make it harder to accidentally leave content items in a locked state, and b) make it easier to adjust the lock timeout or disable locking entirely.
Clean up auto-sort, auto-order code:
- Clean up, i.e. remove all code related to auto-sorting / auto-ordering folder contents as this feature was implemented for Plone 2.1, but never got enabled. Basically this proposes to revert http://plone.org/products/atcontenttypes/roadmap/3
Replace workflow history viewlet with content history viewlet:
- Plone stores both workflow history and versioning history for objects. Only workflow history is shown in a viewlet in current Plone versions. I propose to show all history data.
View for rendering events as an iCalendar file:
- Make it possible to subscribe to Plone events in the standard iCalendar format.
Automate ZCML Loading for Plone Plug-ins:
- Enable automatic plugins for Plone with z3c.autoinclude

Books 3.2.2
Native Cocoa application for Mac OS X that stores, sorts, and searches book collection information more>> Native Cocoa application for Mac OS X that stores, sorts, and searches book collection information
Books is intended to assist book collectors with managing personal collections.
Book cataloging has traditionally been a very tedious and time-consuming task. [COPYRIGHt=1] Prior to computerization most professional libraries hired staff to do this and the result was the venerable card catalog.
The card catalog was better than no catalog at all, but it suffered from a few drawbacks. First of all, it was typically sorted using only a handful of fields that could describe a book. Remember that the fiction catalog was organized alphabetically by the authors last names and the nonfiction books were organized by subject or title.
This was useful if we wanted to find all of the novels published by Stephen King or all of the books about astronomy. It was not so useful for finding all of the books published by Carl Sagan or all of fiction about ghosts.
As you have no doubt noticed during your recent visit to a library, there are not many card catalogs left. Your friendly neighborhood librarian probably replaced the card catalog with a computer workstation that allows you to do things like find all of the ghost novels or list all of the Carl Sagan books on the local shelves.
While something nostalgic has been lost in the transition to digital catalogs, both the librarians and patrons are better off. Patrons can more easily find the books they want and card catalog helps the librarian keep track of what books are on the shelves, who checked them out, and so on.
When you use a cataloging program such as Books, you become both the librarian and the patron. Your library consists of your books sitting on your shelves and how you choose to describe them. Think of Books as your personal card catalog. It has two goals: to help you catalog and manage your book collection, and to give you the tools for quickly locating individual books and enjoying your own personal library.
Main features:>
- Quickfill - Books can go online and retrieve information about your books with as little information as an ISBN number UPC code. Numerous companies and libraries provide book information online and Books helps you by communicating with those sources to save you from entering details or scanning covers manually.
- Lists & Smart Lists - Books allows you to create any number of lists to allow you to organize your collection as you wish. Smart lists allow you to define dynamic lists using a set of simple rules that collect in one place all the books matching your criteria.
- Data Exporting - You may find yourself wishing to use and share your book information when youre not in front of the computer. Books provides many options for taking your data out of the program and making it available to programs such as Excel, posting it on the web as part of your personal website, or taking it on-the-go on your iPod or mobile phone.
Enhancements:
- This update fixes the bugs in the Quickfill system.
