You'll always be able to upgrade Safari without breaking GlimmerBlocker (or waiting for a new release); and you'll be able to upgrade GlimmerBlocker without upgrading Safari. This makes it much easier to use the beta versions of Safari and especially the nightly builds of WebKit.
Because GlimmerBlocker doesn't hack Safari, there is a few things it isn't able to do: adding a block by right-clicking an image, stopping pop-unders, and filtering cookies from 3rd party sites. Looktxt Search and export numerics from any text/ascii file. Data sets (scalar, vector, matrix) are given unique names, based on file content.
Results can be generated for Matlab, IDL, Octave, XML, Scilab, HTML while a wrapper offers the possibility of direct usage from Matlab.
Extracting data from a text file is a never ending story. Usually, one will write a short script or program/function to analyse each specific input data format. The looktxtcommand purpose is to read any text data file containing numerical blocks just as a human would read it.
Specifically, it looks for contiguous numerical blocks, which are stored into matrices, and other parts of the input file are classified as headers which are optionally exported. Numerical blocks are labelled according to the preceeding header block last word.
Blocks read from the data file can be sorted into sections. Each section SEC starts when it appears in a header and contains all following fields until a new section is found or the end of the file.
Additionally, one may search for specific metadata keywords, at users choice. Each data field matching the keyword metadata META in its headers will create a new entry in the MetaData section.
The output data files may be generated using "Matlab", "Scilab", "IDL", "Octave", "XML", "HTML", and "Raw" formats (using the -f FORMAT option), using a structure-like hierarchy. This hierarchy contains all sections, metadata and optionally headers that have been found during the parsing of the input data file.
After using looktxt foothe data is simply loaded into memory using e.g. matlab> ans=foo;. The exact method to import data is indicated at the begining of the output data file, and depends on the format.
The command can handle large files (tens of Mo) within a few secconds, with minimal memory requirements.

Flashmode is a tool that enables simultaneous typesetting as Textures did. When Flashmode is started, it looks for the front most document in TeXShop, gets its path and after that it is hooked for ever to this document as long as it stays open, i.e., a few split seconds after Flashmode has started the front most document in the TeXShop could be anything without doing any harm.
Then Flashmode checks in regular intervals (default is 0.5 sec), the length of which is user definable, if its tex document has been modified, and if so, it initiates a save, a pdflatex run, and asks TeXShop to refresh the corresponding pdf file. Flashmode can be invoked even if a document isnt typeset yet, but beware that its first action will be a typesetting command.
An important feature is that tex syntax errors dont cause any error messages or disruptions of any kind, i.e., the pdf gets never corrupted, at least the pdf viewer is never aware of it, and the last refreshment is always visible; the last to compla
Thus, the user never gets any error messages; the presence of errors can only be deduced from the pdf window which then doesnt change any more; of course the errors will be reported in the log file and can be looked up.
When the tex document is unmodified, Flashmode stays put in the background with very little CPU load: on my machine the total load would be 200% and the idle Flashmode has about 2.7%, i.e., Flashmode can stay open as long as one wishes without any bad side effects.
While Flashmode is active, the source document can be typeset independently by TeXShop or by other scripts or commands, especially other tex tools like bibtex can be run without any interference by Flashmode.
