MailWidget 3.08
MailWidget is a brilliant widget which checks your Apple Mail account every time Dashboard is activated without having Apple Mail running all the time more>>
MailWidget 3.08 is a brilliant widget which checks your Apple Mail account every time Dashboard is activated without having Apple Mail running all the time. It is able to check all your POP, IMAP, Exchange and .Mac accounts. Unlike other widgets MailWidget knows which mail from your POP account has been received in Apple Mail. That's especially interesting for those who do not have an IMAP account and therefore are not deleting their old mail from the POP mail server immediately in order to be able to read their last mails on travels via webmail. Other widgets would say something like "there are 88 eMails on the mail server" but only MailWidget will tell if there are new eMails that doesn't have been already received by Apple Mail.
Enhancements:
- Changed behaviour so MailWidget does no longer check for mails after waking up when it was set to check only when Dashboard is being activated
- Fixed problem with playback of the default announcement sounds in Snow Leopard
- Fixed displaying problem where account names contained Unicode characters in the account list
- Improved reliability with IMAP servers
- Fixed compatibility to IMAP servers that do not stick tight to the IMAP protocol.
- Improved reliability on fetching header information (sender and subject)

Thunderbird Biff 2.1.9
Thunderbird Biff is designed as an add-on offering a visual indicator of new Thunderbird mail availability in supported clients (Firefox, Sunbird) and Thunderbird itself. more>>
Thunderbird Biff 2.1.9 is designed as an add-on offering a visual indicator of new Thunderbird mail availability in supported clients (Firefox, Sunbird) and Thunderbird itself.
Note: you MUST install this add-on in BOTH Thunderbird and supported clients as there are both client AND server portions which communicate via a TCP/IP socket.
Major Features:
- PLATFORMS:
The producer has personally tested version 2.1.x of this add-on only under Windows 2000 and XP Pro. Several users have informed me that the 1.x and 2.x versions also work on some linux distributions (Debian, Ubuntu, etc) and some MAC OS. So this version may work on those platforms as well - please let me know what you find. I have tested this add-on using the following Thunderbird email account types: pop3, IMAP, and those employing the webmail add-on. - RATIONALE:
- Having recently switched from the Mozilla Suite to Firefox/Thunderbird, I missed some aspects of the integration between browser and email. I could not find an existing add-on to show a prominent visual indicator that new mail is ready (even if not automatically downloaded).
- Thunderbird shows a popup message when mail is ready. But the popup may be shown and not seen. I also auto-hide my windows task bar so the tray icon is not always visible. Also, since I do not automatically download new messages, I am not always aware that new mail is waiting to be downloaded.
- DETAILS:
- After a default installation, a new icon is added on the right side of the status bar in Thunderbird and supported clients. Icon tool tips are provided. In Firefox and Sunbird, you may left-click the icon to start/show the Thunderbird. Note: use of the left click feature only makes sense if both Firefox/Sunbird and Thunderbird are meant to be used on the same computer (see the thunderbirdbiff.hostname option below). In all applications, a right-click of the icon will display the version of this add-on.
- If the client application is started prior to starting Thunderbird, this add-on will show an unplugged cable icon. When Thunderbird is running, you should see either a plain mail icon or a mail icon with a flashing green arrow (new mail). In case of error, an "X" icon is shown.
- OPTIONS:
The following options/preferences can be specified via this add-on's Options panel (or via the application's Config Editor):- Thunderbirdbiff.hostname - each client will look for a Thunderbird server on the computer with the name specified in this string option. By default the value is "localhost", the same machine on which the client application runs. The name/IP address of a reachable, remote computer may be specified if the client application is running on a machine other than the one which runs Thunderbird. It is a good idea to try to ping the hostname you plan to specify to be sure the computer is "reachable". This option is used only by client installations. If specified in Thunderbird, it is ignored.
- Thunderbirdbiff.port - all clients and the Thunderbird server MUST agree on the TCP/IP port via which communication will occur. By default this add-on uses the TCP/IP port 25501. You may change this integer option to a value greater than 1023 if you find the default port setting blocked or otherwise in use.
- Thunderbirdbiff.intervalSeconds - each client installation will poll the Thunderbird server to check for the presence of new mail at an interval specified by this integer option. 10 seconds is the default and the minimum value permitted. This option is used only by client installations. If specified in Thunderbird, it is ignored.
- Thunderbirdbiff.useAnimation - by default, this add-on uses an animated gif to yield a "flashing arrow" effect when new mail arrives. It is possible that animated gifs may be blocked or otherwise disabled on your computer and prevent the new mail icon from being displayed properly. By toggling the default setting of this boolean option from "true" to "false", the animated gif will be replaced with a static image.
- Thunderbirdbiff.position - by default, this add-on will place its icon on the right of the application's status bar. Toggling this string option's value from "right" to "left" will allow you to change the icon's position. Unfortunately, different add-ons contend for these highly desired locations on the status bar and there seems to be no way to warranty that your choice will be strictly respected after all add-ons have been loaded.
- Thunderbirdbiff.startupEmail - this client-side boolean option (false by default) will, if enabled, cause the add-on to attempt to automatically start the default email tool (hopefully Thunderbird) on the local computer. If the email tool is already started, it should be shown. This option only makes if "thunderbird.hostname" is set to point at the local system.
- Thunderbirdbiff.emailPath - this client-side string (empty by default) specifies the fully qualified path to your Thunderbird executable. On Mac, this should be your Thunderbird.app bundle. Note: a restart of the application is NOT required when changing the above option settings. New option settings take effect immediately.
- Thunderbirdbiff.logToFile - by default, this option is "false" and no verbose logging is sent to a file as the number and size of these files can grow large rapidly. So this option should be enabled only for debugging purposes. By toggling this boolean option to "true", detailed logs will be created. Changes to this option require a restart of the application. The add-on's Options panel displays the directory where log files will be stored. Log file names begin with thunderbirdbiff and are suffixed with the Mozilla application name (firefox, sunbird, thunderbird). A new log file is created each time an application is started.
- OTHER:
- Because this add-on makes use of TCP/IP sockets for communication, problems can arise if your firewall is not properly configured. If you have installed this add-on in Thunderbird and Thunderbird is running but your client installation shows only the unplugged cable icon, then be sure to check your firewall settings (after first confirming that the thunderbirdbiff.port and thunderbirdbiff.hostname options are properly set).
- Some Thunderbird settings can affect the behavior of this add-on:
-
- Tools|Account Settings|Server Settings|Check for new messages every X minutes MUST be enabled. This add-on's results are triggered by the same mechanism through which the built-in Thunderbird biff is triggered. However, the built-in Thunderbird biff does not need to be enabled for this add-on to function. But if Thunderbird is not set to check for new messages on at least one account, do not expect to see much value in this add-on.
- Only IMAP and POP3 accounts are checked for new mail arrival. RSS and Newsgroup accounts are ignored.
- Support for Polish (pl-PL) localization thanks to Leszek (teo) Zyczkowski at BabelZilla.
- Support for Simplified Chinese (zh-CN) localization thanks to Feng Chao at BabelZilla.
- Support for German (de-DE) localization thanks to Sportsman79 at BabelZilla.
- Preliminary support for TB 3 (beta 1).
- Support for FF 3.5.

Google Contacts for Thunderbird 0.5.55
Google Contacts for Thunderbird is the brilliant Thunderbird add-on that enables Thunderbird to access and manage Gmail contacts. more>>
Google Contacts for Thunderbird 0.5.55 is the brilliant Thunderbird add-on that enables Thunderbird to access and manage Gmail contacts. After you installed the add-on, all contacts are imported to Thunderbird's address books; contacts in Gmail are mapped to cards and contact groups are mapped to mail lists. When you changes the cards or mail lists, the changes applied to Gmail contacts immediately; it is similar to the way IMAP updates messages properties. Please note that it works only when you are at online.
Before you use the add-on, you have to set up Gmail account in Thunderbird. So, if you have not set up it yet, please do it first. If you are going to set up Gmail IMAP access, my another add-on, Gmail IMAP Account Setup will help you. After the account setup was done, download Google Contacts and install it to Thunderbird then restart Thunderbird.
The add-on detects Gmail accounts and retrieve their contacts. Account names and passwords are searched in a password mamanger if you save passwords to it; if you not, it asks you passwords. Your contacts are imported to the address books which are named by Google-accountname manner. For example, contacts of sample@gmail.com is imported to Gmail-sample@gmail.com. It is OK to change the name after the synchronization, it is just a default name. When you add a card to the address book, the card is added to contacts of sample@gmail.com immediately. It works for deletion/modification of cards/lists as well.
Outspring Mail 1.1.1
Email client with automation and learning features. more>>
Outspring Mail 1.1.1 is an email program which can help you in various ways. Like offering to reply to certain types of email messages using a response you've previously sent. Or giving you the option to auto-file a message you've read based on how you've filed similar messages in the past. What if you could defer a message from your inbox for a few days or weeks, so that it magically reappears later when you're ready to deal with it? What if this program had an amazing junk mail filter that would leave your inbox devoid of spam? And what if this program was as familiar and easy to use as Apple Mail?
Outspring Mail is the newest email client for Macintosh. This tool can include the best features of existing email programs and coupled them with our patent-pending intelligent functions to create a program that will make your email chores far easier. And since this is a current-generation application, it supports major email protocols including POP, IMAP, SMTP and SSL. It also runs natively on the latest Macintosh computers and OS X Leopard. Demo notes: Launching the program and pressing the DEMO button (instead of entering a serial number) will place the program in demo mode, which is: All functions and features of the program will operate for 10 days. A "This message was sent with Outspring Mail..." tag will be added to all outgoing messages sent with the program. After the 10-day demo period has expired, the program will still work, but the user will not be able to send out mail or receive new mail until reactivated with a serial number provided at purchase.
Major Features:
- Unique Features
- Auto-Filing
- Auto-Reply
- Find Similar Messages
- Reply with Template
- Message Deferment
- Message Preview with Intelligent Summary
- Tabbed Display
- Resize / Rotate Images
- Mail Account Icons
- Email With A Brain: Outspring Mail ushers in an entirely new category of software to the Macintosh: adaptive intelligent software. By using advanced database analysis and Bayesian logic, the program is able to ascertainImage patterns in the way you reply to and file your mail and make suggestions to assist you with your communications. Think about it...if you frequently reply to an email message that says, "How do I get to your office?" or words to that effect; shouldn't your email program be smart enough to know that you've replied to this same type of message before? And shouldn't it then offer to use one of these replies for the current message? The program also offers a similar technique for filing messages. Once the program has gone through a short learning process of observing your mail filing habits and cross-referencing message content, it will begin to suggest appropriate folders or mailboxes to file messages. Instead of dragging messages to folder icons, you'll be presented with one or more likely destination buttons that will automatically file your mail in an appropriate location.
- Message Deferment: Another unique feature of Outspring Mail is a function called Message Deferment. This is much like the "snooze" button on an alarm clock. Many people will receive a message, read it, make a mental note to handle it later and then leave it in their Inbox. ImageAfter a few weeks or months, their Inbox becomes an unmanageable mess. But what if you could instead read the message, decide you don't want to deal with it this week and send it "away" for a week? The deferment feature then moves the message to a special folder and the program waits for the selected amount of time. When that time period has elapsed, Outspring Mail then moves the message back into the Inbox with an indicator reminding you that the message is a deferred message that has been returned.
- Intelligent Summary:The product also contains a unique "Intelligent Summary" view. By using advanced summarizing algorithms, this feature allows you to quickly review email by a list of the summarized content, negating the need to open each message to see the heart of that content.
- Spam Control:ImageOutspring Mail also contains an advanced spam filter that can eliminate 98% of your incoming junk mail. Having developed a server-side spam blocker for a number of years, Outspring has leveraged this experience into the spam filter which is included with the product.
- Data Detectors For Calendar & Address Book: Another useful feature is data detection on incoming messages that link to the Macintosh built in Imagecalendar, iCal. If you receive a message that contains a phrase like, "Let's meet for lunch next Friday...", Outspring Mail will convert the phrase "next Friday" into a hot link. Clicking that link will take you to the iCal entry for the following Friday (based on the send date of the message). This Imagefeature works with literal dates like 1/15/09, May 15, 2008 and also with relative dates like "next Friday", "last Tuesday", etc.
- Outspring Mail also links to your Apple address book, so contact data will be displayed within messages (like the contacts photo, if present). Clicking on that contact's image will take you to that entry in the address book.
- Easy Transition From Apple Mail & QuickMailImage: Whether you are an existing Apple Mail or QuickMail user, you'll find it easy to import all of your existing email data into Outspring Mail. Our import assistant allows you to select which accounts you wish to import into Outspring Mail while leaving the database of the prior program intact. Import works with both POP and IMAP accounts.
- ImageSpell Check Outspring Mail utilizes the the Macintosh system dictionary for spelling, corrections, synonyms and definitions. Misspelled words are highlighted as they are typed, which reduces the need to proof-read your outgoing messages. You can also check the definitions of words by simply control-clicking the word in question. By using the system dictionary, Outspring Mail is compatible with any language supported by OS X.
Enhancements: Bug fixes:
- Fixed a bug which prevented adding/removing columns in the message list.
- Fixed missing message headers when switching rapidly between messages.
- Fixed an issue with demo serial number invalid.

POPFile 1.1.1 RC1 / 1.1.0
Email classification tool with a Naive Bayes classifier, POP3, SMTP, NNTP proxies and IMAP filter and a web interface. more>> Email classification tool with a Naive Bayes classifier, POP3, SMTP, NNTP proxies and IMAP filter and a web interface.
POPFile is an email classification tool with a Naive Bayes classifier, POP3, SMTP, NNTP proxies and IMAP filter and a web interface.
POPFile classifies email into categories you define. It can sort into spam and not spam or into any number of categories you like (e.g. work, personal, important project, hobby, etc.).
The classification is done using a native Bayes algorithm. In other words, POPFile uses statistics to track which words are likely to appear in which messages. This means that POPFile will adapt to the kind of mail you receive and needs to be trained.
Out of the box, it doesnt know anything about spam or how messages from your mother differ from those your friends send you. However, if you train it, it will soon learn how to tell these different kinds of messages apart.
POPFile is a cross-platform solution that will run on most platforms and with most email clients.
Enhancements

Ronin allows for the rapid development and distribution of code over many of the common Source-Code-Management (SCM) systems.
Free
All source code within Ronin is licensed under the GPL-2, therefore no user will ever have to pay for Ronin or updates to Ronin. Not only is the source code free, the Ronin project will not sell enterprise grade security snake-oil solutions, give private training classes or later turn Ronin into commercial software.

Decentralized
Ronin does not have a central repository of exploits and payloads which all developers contribute to. Instead Ronin has Overlays, repositories of code that can be hosted on any CVS/SVN/Git/Rsync server. Users can then use Ronin to quickly update or install Overlays. This allows users and developers to form their own communities, independent of the main developers of Ronin.
Main features:
- Supports installing/updating/uninstalling of Overlays.
- Supports accessing Overlays from various media types: CVS, Subversion (SVN), Git, Rsync, Darcs
- Allows for the loading of Extensions from one or more Overlays.
- Provides persistent storage using DataMapper.
- Provides convenience methods for: formatting data (Binary, HTTP, URIs, HTML), networking (TCP, UDP, SMTP, POP, Imap, Telnet, HTTP), web access (utilizing Mechanize and Hpricot).
- Provides an IRB styled console with: tab-completion enabled, auto-indentation enabled, pretty-Print loaded.
