CrystalClear Interface is an experimental system add-on to Mac OS X that introduces transparency into Aqua and lets users customize the color and transparency of window and text backgrounds. It is a Cocoa InputManager, so it functions only on applications built with the Cocoa frameworks.
Nowadays Cocoa is the main tool to design Apple software, but prominent holdovers are iTunes and the Finder.
Main features:
- Manages overall window transparency (as SetAlphaValue did), plus adds separate transparency settings to window backgrounds and background colors of "views" (subcomponents of windows).
- Replaces the default window "frames" of Mac OS X Aqua with transparent ones that more or less reproduce the look of windows in the ShapeShifter version of Crystal Clear.
- The Preferences panel has numerous options that you can control. For details on what these options are and how to use them, please refer to the "Help" document that accompanies this download. Note that the "Help" document is also embedded in the Preferences panel as one of its tabs.
- Panels (such as the color and font panels) are designed with the "HUD" look thats become popular in Apples software lately. Sheets are designed in a light blue, and "alert" panels appear in a gold color. The structure is in place to allow users to customize the color settings for both of these kinds of window objects.
- Most windows in CrystalClear Interface are rendered with a "shine" overlay that looks really cool. The shine resizes itself with its window and disposes of itself when the window is closed. The Preferences panel now lets you turn this option on and off.
- CrystalClear Interface can change the background text color on windows to ensure optimum contrast with your current desktop picture. This feature is improved in version 1.9.0, but further improvements are planned to continue striving to make windows of variable color and transparency readable.

Google Quick Search Box is very experimental, but through it you will be able to see many of the explored areas: actions, contextual search, and extensibility.
Google Quick Search Box is by no means feature-complete, but is a very good indication of things to come.

- It works as a location bar AND a search box - Itll autocomplete URLs and you can use TAB to search any website using Site Search.
- The tab key has special functionality beyond just site search. It is equivalent to "search in this context": youll see that the results of a contextual search include related items, contents, and actions.
- Calculation, Weather, and Definition one boxes will show up periodically. More are on the way. What else would you expect to see?
- If you enable it, spotlight results will show up. Usually these are relegated to the "More" section at the bottom of the window, but once you use these items, theyll be learned and become much faster to access.

Halyard is a free and open source scriptable multimedia engine. Halyard currently runs on Windows, but it should be portable to other platforms (at the moment Halyard has a highly-experimental port to Mac OS X).
Halyard is based on PLT Scheme, wxWidgets and the Quake 2 Engine. It includes a rudimentary IDE based on Scintilla.
At the moment, Halyard is almost entirely undocumented, and the toolset is in heavy flux as we prepare for our next project. Be warned! There are lots of known bugs.

PsychoPy will combine the easy Python syntax with the graphical strengths of OpenGL to give psychophysics a free and simple stimulus presentation and control package.

CompPad is an OpenOffice extension to provide live mathematical and engineering calculations within a Writer document, allowing calculations to be documented using all of the resources of OpenOffice.
CompPad will have functionality similar to Mathcad, but is not intended to be a Mathcad clone. Rather, I hope it might prove more flexible and extensible, and that it might encourage other open-source alternatives to this engineering "Killer App."
Compad currently exists as an "experimental" release, with no error handling and minimal features.
Compad consists of a few Java classes, with the main method being called as a macro from within an OpenOffice document.
The macro searches the document for embedded OOMath objects, translates the text of the Math object into a tokenized postfix format which is then translated into JavaScript function calls and executed in a JavaScript scripting engine.
Output is posted back to the document as "SetExpression" text fields, which will allow full precision to be returned but display format to be controlled.

Enblend is a tool for composing images. more>> Enblend is a tool for composing images. Given a set of images that overlap in some irregular way, Enblend overlays them in such a way that the seam between the images is invisible, or at least very difficult to see.
Enblend does not line up the images for you - youll need a tool such as Hugin for that soecific type of job.
Features:
New, faster image processing algorithms for computing Gaussian and Laplacian pyramids.
Optional optimization of seam line placement to try to avoid mismatches and parallax errors in the image overlap region.
Masks can now be saved and loaded from files. This makes it possible to manually edit the location of the seam before multiresolution spline blending is applied.
Checkpointing of partial results is now optional. This improves speed.
Optional blending using the CIECAM02 color appearance model. Your TIFF files should have embedded ICC profiles in order to use this option. This replaces the CIE L*a*b* color blending in Enblend 2.X that never worked properly.
Optional use of the graphics processor to speed up certain computations. This feature is experimental and may not work on all systems.

OpenDS also supports a multi-master replication model that guarantees the high availability of the data for all operations, searches or updates. With a limited footprint, the OpenDS server can be embedded in other Java applications (or web applications).
The OpenDS directory service will ultimately include not just the Directory Server, but also other essential directory-related services like directory proxy, virtual directory, namespace distribution and data synchronization. Initial development of OpenDS was done by Sun Microsystems, but is now available under the open source Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL).
