Despite its name (and the ubiquitousness of the DV format), CatDV is designed for all kinds of digital video and media files, not just DV but also including MPEG-2, MXF, MPEG-4, HDV, Uncompressed, WMV, OMFI, JPEG, WAV, and much more.
Major Features:
- "iTunes/iPhoto for movies"
- Apple's iLife apps are great for MP3s and digital photos but CatDV will do the same for movies and tapes. What's more, CatDV works down to the level of clips and scenes within a movie file or on a tape, described by their timecode, not just at the coarse level of complete files on disk.
- Logging tool
- Don't wear out your tape and deck by shuffling it back and forwards as you identify the scenes to use and annotate them. Capture the tape to disk (in compressed form) and log from disk, giving you instant access to any portion of the tape. Use automatic scene detection to take the drudgery out of finding scene boundaries, or use the Verbatim Logger to type in comments, such as notes on the spoken dialogue or the text for subtitles, while the clip is playing - everything you type will automatically be linked to the appropriate timecode.

- QuickTime 7 is fantastic technology. It's much more than a file format but a complete set of components for creating and manipulating all kinds of media files (including MPEG-4 files and the amazing H.264/AAC codecs). However, not all its capabilities are available with the standard QuickTime Player application. - You might have video files coming in via FTP, or a tapeless camera such as the Sony XDCAM, often with metadata in an associated XML file. - Mark and in and out points and quickly create a cuts-only sequence from the clips you've found, all from within your asset management database. - With CatDV you can quickly and easily add text tracks when exporting movies. Perhaps you want to add subtitles, the clip or project name, or protect your clips by burning in a copyright notice. Covered reads in the Verilog design files and a VCD or LXT formatted dumpfile from a diagnostic run and generates a database file called a Coverage Description Database (CDD) file, using the score command.
Covereds score command can alternatively be used to generate a CDD file and a Verilog module for using Covered as a VPI module in a testbench which can obtain coverage information in parallel with simulation.
The resulting CDD file can be merged with other CDD files from the same design to create accummulated coverage, using the merge command.
Once a CDD file is created, the user can use Covered to generate various human-readable coverage reports in an ASCII format or use Covereds GUI to interactively look at coverage results, using the report command.
Additionally, as part of Covereds score command, race condition possibilities are found in the design files and can be either flagged as errors, ignoredor flagged as warnings.
By specifying race conditions as errors, Covered can also be used as a race condition checker.
Covered currently supports Verilog-1995, Verilog-2001 (with the exception of config blocks currently), and some SystemVerilog constructs. Metrics that are generated include the following:

Crossroads is a daemon that basically accepts TCP connections at preconfigured ports, and given a list of back ends distributes each incoming connection to one of the back ends, so that a client request is served.
Additionally, Crossroads maintains an internal administration of the back end connectivity: if a back end isnt usable, then the client request is handled using another back end.
Crossroads will then periodically check whether a previously not usable back end has come to life yet. Also, Crossroads can select back ends by estimating the load, so that balancing is achieved.
Using this approach, Crossroads serves as load balancer and fail over utility. Crossroads will very likely not be as reliable as hardware based balancers, since it always will require a server to run on. This server, in turn, may become a new Single Point of Failure (SPOS).
However, in situations where cost efficiency is an issue, Crossroads can be a good choice.
Furthermore, crossroads can be deployed in situations where a hardware based balancing already exists and augmenting service reliability is needed. Or, crossroads may be run off a diskless system, which again improves reliability of the underlying hardware.
This document describes how to use crossroads, how to configure it in order to increase the reliability of your systems, and how to compile the program from its sources.

XSLPalette 1.3.3 is designed as a useful tool which acts as the free, native XSLT 2.0 and XPath 2.0 debugging palette your text editor has been missing.
Major Features:- Ability to select XML source documents and XSLT stylehseets created in your editor of choice (like BBEdit).
- Execute your XSLT transformation from the XSLPalette UI.
- View intuitive error messages, s, and other diagnostic info in the XSLPalette console tab.
- Ability to specify global s from the UI for dynamic XSLT.
- View result of your transformation as raw text, a pretty DHTML tree view (when appropriate), or a rendered HTML page (when appropriate).
- Save your document and param settings as .xslpalette documents for opening later.
- Support for XSLT 1.0 and EXSLT including regexp:test and regexp:replace.
- 1.3.3 is a bug fix release that should resolve classpath issues that prevented XSLPalette from working for many users.
