RCEnvironment 1.4 brings you a useful Mac OS X 10.1 or higher preference pane that allows a user to edit their ~/.MacOSX/environment.plist file. This file is simply a property list of keys and values that the login system will read and load into the process environment of all applications that are launched when the user logs in. These variables are the same as environment variables that can be created in a command line shell (eg: sh or csh), but they also can be seen by GUI applications. In this, these environment variables are somewhat similar to Windows' Environment User Variables.
Major Features:
- While the PropertyListEditor that Apple provides with the developer tools can be used to edit this file, that tool allows more flexibility than should be specified in the environment file, plus you have to install the developer tools to get that tool, while this is a simple editor that ensures the file is setup correctly and does not require the developer tools.
- Be for use with MacOS X 10.1 or higher. It comes with source code if you want to see how it works.
Enhancements:
- Built with a 64-bit Intel binary to work with Snow Leopard's System Preferences.
- Added German translation thanks to Tim de Buhr.

Composer 7.1 is known as a utility that creates packages tailored to end user configurations and helps save your IT administration time, resources, and network bandwidth, since only the required data is distributed upon deployment. Part of the Casper Suite-the only client management application developed exclusively for the Mac platform-as well as being available as a standalone application, Composer 7 lets users point-and-click their way through the package creation process. In doing so, it creates software and/or file installation packages for network deployment quickly and easily, creating packages in either .pkg or .dmg formats.
Major Features:
- File System Monitoring
- In addition to the traditional 'Before & After' snapshot method of creating packages, Composer 7 has the ability to monitor the file system using FSEvents. This allows the capture of any changes that may occur during an installation, without having to take the time to create a snapshot of the hard drive.
- Drag-and-Drop Package Building
- Simply drag the software components and/or files to be distributed onto the Composer application window to create preconfigured software or file packages, quickly and easily.
- Built-in Quick Look File Viewer
- Easily see critical information about files and folders without having to locate them in the OS X Finder.
- Developer Tools Independent
- Composer 7 no longer requires the pre-installation of Apple's Developer Tools to create PKG-style packages.
- Download Diffs
- Composer allows the building of packages from software that is already installed and configured, using "PreInstalled Diff" files. These files, which can be created by the entire community, can be updated at anytime from inside Composer's interface.
- Package Editor
- Composer's Package Editor adds a range of productivity features, including the ability to manage pre-flight, post-flight and other scripts, create and modify localizations, easily identify new, modified or deleted files, and diff file creation.
Enhancements:
- Snow Leopard Compatible
- File System Monitoring
- Drag-and-Drop Package Building
- Built-in Quick Look File Viewer
- Developer Tools Independent
- Download Diffs
- Package Editor

WebDNA Developer Edition 6.2
Flexible scripting language and database system. more>>
WebDNA Developer Edition 6.2 is completely customizable to customers' needs to build a wide range of applications, from basic form-to-email to highly sophisticated database-driven intranet sites. While it is not a framework like Ruby on Rails, WebDNA replaces multiple instructions with a single one, allowing the developer to code as much as 3 times faster than with php or asp. WebDNA's flexibility translates to a very small set of instructions required to build virtually any type of server side application.
Because WebDNA uses the English language and familiar tag structure, basic HTML is the only background needed, making it ideal for the web designer or webmaster to create dynamic sites without relying on outside programming help..
An unlimited number of ultrafast databases can reside within your site hierarchy. There is no need to use MySQL, Microsoft SQL or PostGres at all, but if you want to, you can..
Writing to and searching through a WebDNA database is integrated into the language itself so that variables are immediately available, using one single syntax. You do not need to learn PHP syntax and MySQL syntax. One single WebDNA command does it all.
WebDNA can interact with Flash, Applets, JavaScript, Ajax, and many other client-side processors to create the perfect client-to-server balance. It will also integrate with any payment gateways and other web services, such as shipping rate quotes, whether object (Java) driven or form driven. WebDNA is a "play nice with others" application..
Whether you need to build a dynamic ecommerce website, web applications, or just password protect a file, WebDNA will allow you to do it much faster and more easily than with any other traditional tools.

JarBundler 2.0.0 is a perfect solution for you in case you've written a little Java utility, or maybe even a more complex application, and you want to create Mac OS X application bundle for easy distribution. You'd like to be able to do it automatically from your build process, but you're forced to go run the Apple Jar Bundler and tweak all the settings manually every time you build.
Well no more! JarBundler is a feature-rich ant task which will create a Mac OS X application bundle from a list of Jar files and a main class name. You can add an Icon resource, set various Mac OS X native look-and-feel bells and whistles, and maintain your application bundles as part of your normal build and release cycle.
This is free software licensed under the GNU General Public License. The usage page HTML is included or can found on-line here. Based on JarBundler 1.4 copyrighted by Seth J. Morabito, Loom Communications.
Requirements:
- Developer tools must have been installed or ANT installed manually.
- Can be used on Windows and Linux, see web page for details.
