Noble Ape Simulation 0.690
Create an environment & simulate apes. more>>
Noble Ape Simulation 0.690 is a beneficial and high-speed application which creates a detailed biological environment and a cognitive simulation. It is intended as a palette for open source cross-platform development on Windows, Mac and Linux.
The Noble Ape Simulation has been in development for more than a decade.
It features a number of autonomous simulation components including a landscape simulation, biological simulation, weather simulation, sentient creature (Noble Ape) simulation and a simple intelligent-agent scripting language (ApeScript).
Major Features:
- In addition to the ApeScript documentation on the Noble Ape site, ApeScript was also launched through Wikipedia to allow true language scrutiny through the computer language scholars and students reading through the Wikipedia language definitions.
- The cognitive simulation is relatively central to the hardcoded version of the Simulation and optional (on by default) in the ApeScript version of the sentient simulation. This gives some freedom in the agent simulation method used through ApeScript. Advanced ApeScript users may turn the cognitive simulation off and uses the ''brain space'' as actual memory.
- The landscape (physics) and weather simulations are autonomous components of the Noble Ape Simulation too. The weather simulation can work in either flat or spherical environments similar to the landscape simulation.
- The biological simulation is based on quantum mechanics. The landscape's shape (height values, surface area, slopes, angle to simulated sun) can be the source of all the biological properties of the environment. This means for any landscape, a (long term) stable biological environment can exist and include a wide variety of plants and animals in the simulated ecosystem.
MediaWiki 1.15
Collaborative editing software that runs Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, and other projects. MediaWiki is an extremely powerful, scaleable software and a feature-rich wiki implementation, that uses more>> Collaborative editing software that runs Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, and other projects.
MediaWiki is an extremely powerful, scaleable software and a feature-rich wiki implementation, that uses PHP to process and display data stored in its MySQL database.
MediaWiki is designed to handle a large number of users and pages without imposing too rigid a structure or workflow. It is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
Pages use MediaWikis wikitext format, so that users without knowledge of XHTML or CSS can edit them easily.
When a user submits an edit to a page, MediaWiki writes it to the database, but without deleting the previous versions of the page, thus allowing easy reverts in case of vandalism or spamming.
MediaWiki can manage image and multimedia files, too, which are stored in the filesystem. For large wikis with lots of users, MediaWiki supports caching and can be easily coupled with Squid proxy server software.
System requirements:
- PHP 5 (5.1 recommended). PHP 4 is no longer supported.
