Namely 2.0.3b1

Namely 2.0.3b1

Namely lets you get to all your applications quickly by typing part of their name more>>
Namely is possibly the fastest way to open applications. And unlike some other launchers, it doesnt require any learning.
You simply hit your preferred keyboard shortcut to show it and start typing part of an applications name. It shows you a list of matches and narrows it down as you type.
Most of the time, one or two letters are enough, especially since Namely learns your habits and makes your most-used apps even quicker to access. Its basically Spotlight for applications, only much faster.
Namely lets you get to all your applications quickly by typing part of their name.
It will show you a list of matches and you keep typing to narrow them down. Actually, two or three letters are enough most of the time. When youve found what youre looking for, hit Return to launch it.
Enhancements:
- Built to run natively on Intel Macs. (If you have an Intel iMac or MacBook Pro, please let me know if this version is working for you.)
- After detaching an external display, Namely will ensure its window is in the visible screen area.
- Pressing Escape when the text field is empty will now hide Namely.
- Namely now hides itself when you switch to another application, so it wont get in the way when you switch applications subsequently.
- An open-hand cursor is shown when you move the mouse over the window, to make it more obviously movable.
- Apps on removable media, including disk images, are now excluded.
- Apps that have been moved to the trash from any volume (not just the startup disk) are now excluded.

dfontifier 2.0.1

dfontifier 2.0.1

Convert between .dfonts and TrueType fonts. more>>
dfontifier is an application that can convert Datafork TrueType fonts (.dfonts) into ordinary OS 9-style TrueType fonts and vice versa.
This may be useful when sending jobs to service bureaus that are still in OS 9.

Also, while most current font manager applications can "bridge the gap" between the OS X native and Classic environments by making fonts youve activated available to both environments, they seem to be limited when it comes to data fork-based fonts.

For example, your font manager cant make your .dfont fonts available to Classic because Classic doesnt understand how to use them. dfontifier can help solve this problem by allowing you to convert your .dfonts into regular resource fork-based TT fonts. That way, you can be certain youre using the exact same font set both natively and in the Classic environment.

AquaTerm 1.0b2

AquaTerm is a product considered a Mac OS X plotting front end (graphics terminal) written applying Objective-C and the Cocoa API. more>>
AquaTerm 1.0b2 is a product considered a Mac OS X plotting front end (graphics terminal) written applying Objective-C and the Cocoa API. It allows other applications to display vector graphics and images using a simple API. This is useful for displaying graphics generated by old code natively in Aqua. AquaTerm will let you print and save the output as PDF or EPS files.

You connect to AquaTerm through an "adapter", a small code snippet that will have to be linked with your old code. If you are lucky, an adapter is already available for download, otherwise youll have to write your own adapter using one of the examples provided.

The aim is to provide as many adapters as possible for command line UNIX programs and scripting languages. At present, there are adapters for gnuplot, PGPLOT and PLplot. Examples written in C, FORTRAN and Objective-C are available.

Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.3 or later.

Brainstem X 1.4

Brainstem X 1.4

Brainstem is, to my knowledge, the clear choice for neural network applications running natively in Mac OS X. It boasts a polished interface and is very stable more>> Brainstem is, to my knowledge, the clear choice for neural network applications running natively in Mac OS X. It boasts a polished interface and is very stable. Whats more, it is fast, beating out the two other neural network implementations that I tested it against - including the only other OS X native application, whose training epochs take roughly four times as long. Finally, it is free for non-profit purposes. Use it as much as you want, and the only time you have to give me any money for it is if you are using it to help yourself make more money. I am happily soliciting user comments, also, in order to add features in the future; this is software that will grow to fit your needs, if it does not do so already.
Requirements:
Mac OS x 10.1 or later.

QuickPlay 1.0a3

QuickPlay 1.0a3

QuickPlay - simple lightweight sound player intended to run under MacOS X more>>
QuickPlay is a simple lightweight sound player intended to run under MacOS X.
I based it on my favourite sound player for MacOS 9, SoundApp.
Unfortunately, SoundApp doesnt run natively under MacOS X at the moment, which is why I wrote QuickPlay.
QuickPlay will run fine under MacOS 9 (It was developed under MacOS 9), but due to MacOS 9s lack of preemptive multitasking, it wont play as smoothly when other applications do lengthy operations. SoundApp plays very smoothly under MacOS 9 by going a much more difficult route than QuickPlay does. You should use it if you are running MacOS 9.
Main features:
- Ability to play almost any type of sound file available (Thanks to the wonder that is QuickTime)
- To play sound files, drag them on to QuickPlays icon, or on to its window.
- Play Queue. Drag multiple sound files on to the application, and they will be placed in a queue.
