Messenger for Mac offers two types of communication services a personal account and a corporate account. A personal account works with the MSN Messenger service on the Microsoft Passport Network.

Note: Messenger for Mac 7.0.2 does not work with Live Communications Server 2005. If your organization uses Live Communications Server 2005, you should use Messenger for Mac Version 6.0.

Major Features:

1. Contacts that you add to your personal account include friends and family members. A corporate account uses the Microsoft Office Live Communications Server service.
2. Contacts that you add to your corporate account include coworkers who are in the same company as you and associates at other companies. Instant message conversations with other corporate account users are not limited to corporate users who have Messenger for Mac installed on their computers.
3. With the federation features enabled on Live Communications Server, users can also have instant message conversations with users who have other instant messaging services, such as AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), Yahoo Messenger, and iChat users who are signed in with AOL accounts.
4. Microsoft Messenger for Mac 7 can connect to the following networks and messaging services:
   • To use the personal service, a Windows Live ID, such as a Windows Live Hotmail account, is required. Personal account users can communicate with other contacts who use the Windows Live and Yahoo! messaging services.
   • To use the corporate service, an account on Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 is required. Corporate account users can communicate with other contacts on a corporate network or on federated networks, and with contacts who use the Windows Live, Yahoo!, and AOL messaging services.

Microsoft IntelliType 7.0 is a handy tool with which you can customize the features of the Microsoft mouse and keyboard. By using the software, you can reassign mouse buttons and keyboard keys to open a program, file, or Web page. Some keyboard models provide a fingerprint scanner for advanced identity management. You can also use the software to control the wheel settings, and assign commands and application-specific functions to the mouse buttons and keyboard keys.
