MathTabsLT 2.0.1 lends you the ability of using a freeware XTension for QuarkXPress 6 which is equipped with functions to type a mathematical expression (i.e. 2+3) and replace it with the correct result (5). So if you type 7/8, select it and hit the MathTabsLT key command, you will get .875. Or if you type (927*129)+(165*27), MathTabsLT will replace it with 124038.

GCMathParser is a free class that you can use in applications that need a way to deal with mathematical expressions input by the user.

FractionCalc will perform standard operations on fractions, improper fractions, or mixed numbers. The solutions are returned in either fractional form or decimal.

PlainCalc is a small, buttonless, algebraic-entry, mathematical calculator with variables.

The world may not have needed yet another calculator, but I wrote this while playing with the Spirit parsing library, and maybe some people will find it useful.

To use PlainCalc, type an expression or assignment and press Return or Enter. Unlike most calculators Ive seen, PlainCalc allows you to indicate multiplication by juxtaposition, e.g., you can write 2?r instead of 2*?*r.

Mpmath 0.12 is a wonderful and very useful product which offers users Python library for arbitrary-precision floating-point arithmetic. Mpmath is a free and open source pure-Python library for arbitrary-precision floating-point arithmetic. Mpmath implements a large set of mathematical functions and provides utilities for arbitrary-precision numerical differentiation, integration, root-finding, interval arithmetic, and other tasks.

It supports unlimited exponent sizes, has full support for complex numbers, and is faster than Pythons standard decimal library. Mpmath is easy to install or include in other software due to being written entirely in Python with no additional dependencies.
