Samba Sharing Package 2.5.0b3 is regarded as a potential and easy to use Unix type server, currently included in MacOSX, which shares files using the CIFS/SMB protocol.

This is the standard file-sharing protocol used by Windows. By sharing your files with Samba they can be accessed by Windows or/and other Unix-like computers in your network. This program allows you to share othere directories then the 'Home'-folders and make those directories available to guest users. You can also use this package to share your printers with Windows users.

Samba Sharing is not meant to access windows computers. OS X 10.2 has features for this itself. You can also use the shareware product Sharity from Objective Development to access the Windows-network.

admaDIC created a small package splmount which easily allows to mount additional volumes in a fli4l router.

The package splmount includes an option to automatically install the ext2 kernel module. The standard configuration of fli4l v3.x only includes the ext3 module. It should be possible to mount ext2 volumes, but we encountered several configurations which did not work properly. In these situations the option to load the ext2 module may be activated and it should be possible to mount the ext2 volumes.

The package should be extracted into the directory which contains the fli4l files. The kernel module ext2.o is included in the package splmount. Originally it is stored in the package kernel-modules-extra.tar.gz, but was included in splmount to save the additional work of extracting it from kernel-modules-extra.tar.gz.

Code 128 EAN/UCC
To create a Code 128 EAN/UCC simply select the code from the list in either the "Single Barcode" or the "Batch Conversion" Pane. The code generator will create all necessary conversion characters to create the smallest possible outline. Use the "~" to encode non-printable characters, e.g. to encode a TAB, enter "~009".
Note: Code 128 and its variations (EAN/UCC/GS1 - they all mean the same) is ALWAYS used with a checksum. If the generated code does not scan, make sure that you checked the "Checksum" box.
Code 39 Extended
Code 39 Extended will be generated automatically after selecting Code 39 if the generator finds a cahacter that can only be used in Code 39 Extended, e.g. asmall caps. Use the "~" to encode non-printable characters, e.g. to encode a TAB, enter "~009".
Note: Make sure your barcode scanner will actually scan Code 39 Extended. This is not a given!
Enhancements:
- Support for Code 128 EAN/UCC and Code 39 Extended.
Version restrictions:
- The trial version of the software will place the word EVAL near the barcode. Nevertheless the code will scan just fine.

htmldoc is a shell-based application that provides conversion of HTML in PDF, PostScript or indexed HTML files. This even works with remote files via HTTP.

htmldoc was written by Easy Software Products and is Open Source Software. This implies I only compiled it and built this installer package, but Im not the author of this software.

The download archive contains htmldoc, compiled from the unmodifed sources, built as an installer package using Apples “Package Maker” software.

Expat is a non-validating XML parser written by James Clark and released under an Open Source license. This implies I only compiled it and built this installer package, but I did not not develop the software.

Most users wont ever use expat directly (although the included xmlwf application can be handy to check the wellformedness of an XML document, if xmllint is not available), but it is a prerequisite for some other software, for instance some XML-related Perl modules or the Sablotron XSL-T processor.

This installer will install expat compiled from the original, unmodified sources.

Open With Package allows you to open documents in applications other than the document creator.

For example, if you have a Microsoft Word document and youd like to read it but dont have Word, you can ask Open With Package to see if it can open the document in AppleWorks or BBEdit.

You dont have to launch the application and then navigate through the open dialog. Just control-click on a document and choose from the applications on your disks that can open it in the pop up list.

Only applications that can open all the documents in the selection appear in the popup menu, so it doesnt take long to find the application that you want.
