MO3 2.2
MO3 decodes MO3 files back to their original format more>>
MO3 decodes MO3 files back to their original format. It can be used together with BASSMOD to play MO3 files in Linux. MO3 is a file format, encapsulating the features of several "MOD" formats (IT/XM/S3M/MTM/MOD), but with one big difference - MP3 and OGG compressed samples. A lossless sample codec is also incorporated, and the whole file structure is compressed too.
MO3 has the following other editions available: MO3 for Windows and MO3 for Linux.
Main features:
- MP3/OGG compression
- Any command-line MP3 or OGG encoder can be used with the MO3 encoder
- Lossless compression
- Samples that dont compress well with MP3/OGG encoding can still be reduced in size with the lossless codec
- Structure compression
- All the non-sample data is also compressed
- Sample specific tuning
- The encoding sample/bit rates are individually adjustable for each sample, with visual comparison of original/encoded samples
- Text removal
- Message/instrument/sample texts can optionally be removed for a further size reduction
- Decompressable
- MO3 files can be decoded back to their original formats using UNMO3 (included)
- Playable
- MO3 files can be played by XMPlay and any software that uses the BASS library, also by other software in conjunction with UNMO3.
Enhancements:
- 16000/22050/32000hz sample rates added for OGG encoding
- Further slight size reductions for all formats
- UNMO3: Support for MIDI macros in XM files
- GUI: File opening via dragndrop and the command-line.

MO5 2.6.2
MO5 - Thomson MO5 emulator more>>
MO5 is based on Marcel O Cinq, the original Thomson MO5 emulator for PC. The original developer used Thomson computers as a child, and was highly motivated to get things working exactly as he remembered them!
MO5 is a Thomson MO5 emulator for Mac OS X.
Main features:
- AZERTY keyboard layout.
- Light Pen Emulation.
Enhancements:
- Fixed a nasty crash that could occur when using high requirement blitters (HQ4x/etc) on slower multiprocessor machines.
- Added a hidden preferences option to disable the information placards (Emulator Reset, etc). To change this, open the preferences plist file in a text editor.
- Added proper code interface for getting the mouse position on display. Nestopia uses this for Zapper support, and TEO/Thom use it replacing a horrible hack used previously.
- Resolved assertion failure, ce_file.c, line 379, when saving a saved state with the same name as an existing file.

iMote 2.2.1
iMote - Control iTunes via keyboard commands more>>
iMote is an an amazingly useful tool for controlling basic iTunes functions (like pausing/paying the current track, skipping to the next or previous track, etc.) from any other application. Say youre surfing the web with Safari (or doing anything else in any other application - except most games) and you want iTunes to skip to the next track; conventonally you would either have to right-click the iTunes dock menu and choose "Next Track," or, click the iTunes icon in the dock to open the iTunes window, and then click next-track control.
If youre using iMote, however, you have two more options.
First, iMote gives you the option of adding a system .menu item to your menu bar. You can use the menu to perform an assortment of basic actions, setting the current tracks rating, change the current playist, and adjust the Shuffle and Repeat settings for the current playlist. The second option iMote gives you over just iTunes, and the option that is intended to be use most often, is its hot keys. For example: If you want to set the currently playing tracks rating to 4 stars, just hold the "Apple" + "Option" modifier keys, and tap the "4" number key. This is an extremely quick and easy way to interact with iTunes - you dont even need to touch the mouse. You can also set custom hot keys using iMotes Preferences window.
iMote also includes a floating, transparent window called the "Floater" that displays information about the track iTunes is currently playing. It displays the name of the track, the album, artist, the tracks rating, and its album artwork if it has any.
iMote is built to use absolutely as little memory and CPU time as possible, and has just the right assortment of options.
Enhancements:
- Universal binary
- Restored menu extra functionality on Intel machines
- Restored Internet Radio track name/artist in floater/Growl
- Japanese and Bulgarian localizations
- Floater/Growl no longer displays for video files
- Floater/Growl no longer displays on "natural" pause
- Other improvements and polishing.

Minicom 2.2
Minicom - A mini code that has the ability to connect to console ports via PowerBook more>>
Now that Im working professionally on clusters and other "big" computer hardware is the ability to connect to console ports via my PowerBook.
The Keyspan high-speed USB adapter will suit my needs, but I had to get Minicom compiled for Mac OS X 10.4. Binaries were available via Fink -- but that is huge overkill for me if all I want is Minicom (which is, itself, a mini code)!

MindYaBlox 1.2.2
MindYaBlox - Blox pattern puzzle game more>>
MindYaBlox is an addictive puzzle game that blows your mind with blox patterns. Choose where to apply the swap moves and hit a maximum number of levels, being the fastest!
How to play
Two grids filled with blox: some are lighter, some are darker.
You just have to make the big grid look like the small one using some swap moves given to you by the MYB robot... Sounds simple? Huh... Probably true when you have only one swap move to apply but imagine yourself anticipating more than two swap moves to find the pattern, really more difficult.
Enhancements:
- CPU Usage has been reduced! really...
- Some levels have been added.

PGPLOT 5.2.2
PGPLOT - Device-independent graphics package for making simple scientific graphs more>>
The PGPLOT Graphics Subroutine Library is a Fortran- or C-callable, device-independent graphics package for making simple scientific graphs. It is intended for making graphical images of publication quality with minimum effort on the part of the user.
For most applications, the program can be device-independent, and the output can be directed to the appropriate device at run time.
The PGPLOT library consists of two major parts: a device-independent part and a set of device-dependent ``device handler subroutines for output on various terminals, image displays, dot-matrix printers, laser printers, and pen plotters. Common file formats supported include PostScript and GIF.
PGPLOT itself is written mostly in standard Fortran-77, with a few non-standard, system-dependent subroutines. PGPLOT subroutines can be called directly from a Fortran-77 or Fortran-90 program. A C binding library (cpgplot) and header file (cpgplot.h) are provided that allow PGPLOT to be called from a C or C++ program; the binding library handles conversion between C and Fortran argument-passing conventions.
PGPLOT has been tested with UNIX (most varieties, including Linux, SunOS, Solaris, HPUX, AIX, Irix, and MacOS X/Darwin) and OpenVMS operating systems.
Enhancements:
- Maintenance release.
- Configuration files for aix, linux, and solaris have been updated.
- The files sys_win/aaaread.me and sys_win/gidriv.f have been modified.
- Minor bugs in the X-window device drivers have been corrected.
- pgqinf: returns new version number (5.2.2).

StarLogo 2.2
StarLogo - programmable modeling environment for kids more>>
StarLogo is a programmable modeling environment for exploring the workings of decentralized systems -- systems that are organized without an organizer, coordinated without a coordinator. With StarLogo, you can model (and gain insights into) many real-life phenomena, such as bird flocks, traffic jams, ant colonies, and market economies.
In decentralized systems, orderly patterns can arise without centralized control. Increasingly, researchers are choosing decentralized models for the organizations and technologies that they construct in the world, and for the theories that they construct about the world.
But many people continue to resist these ideas, assuming centralized control where none exists -- for example, assuming (incorrectly) that bird flocks have leaders. StarLogo is designed to help students (as well as researchers) develop new ways of thinking about and understanding decentralized systems.
StarLogo is a specialized version of the Logo programming language. With traditional versions of Logo, you can create drawings and animations by giving commands to graphic "turtles" on the computer screen. StarLogo extends this idea by allowing you to control thousands of graphic turtles in parallel.
In addition, StarLogo makes the turtles world computationally active: you can write programs for thousands of "patches" that make up the turtles environment.
Turtles and patches can interact with one another -- for example, you can program the turtles to "sniff" around the world, and change their behaviors based on what they sense in the patches below. StarLogo is particularly well-suited for Artificial Life projects.
Enhancements:
- Rewrote tail recursion detection to actually work.
- Fixed numerous hanging bugs that plagued the MacOSX version of StarLogo.
- Fixed display of error dialog boxes when running StarLogo as an applet.
- StarLogo is properly ported to running on Intel-based Macintosh computers when they come out.
- Eliminated ugly redraws of widgets on the Macintosh version of StarLogo. Text widgets look much better now.
- Fixed a bug in scatter plots where the generated StarLogo code was wrong.
- Found and fixed a bug that sometimes let the turtles escape their StarLogo world and scribble on the widgets nearby.
- Resize the patch canvas back to default values when you do New Project.
- Fixed numerous bugs in documentation.
