Linear Laundry is a two-part application designed to accurately and easily develop RAW photos. One part develops the RAW into a linear PSD file, and the a set of Photoshop actions can be used to create a true-color image. The final result is dramatically increased image quality, without the hightlight blow-outs typical of built-in processors.
Main features:
Raw to Linear PSD.app
- Mac OS X native application that converts Canon CRW photos to a linear PSD
- Built using dcraw and Platypus. You dont need to install or compile dcraw, an OS X binary is included inside the program.
LinearLaundry.atn
- This is a set of photoshop actions to easily develop Linear PSDs into bright, correctly colored photos.
- The actions are non-destructive. Each of the actions uses effect layers to develop the photo, so the original PSD is on the bottom layer, untouched.
- All of the actions can be used in batch processing as desired.

- Gentle Cycle - Preserves all highlights. Takes about 30 seconds per image, but for high-saturation photos, its worth the wait.
- Quick Rinse - Develops about the same as Gentle Cycle, but can blow some highlights. Much Faster, ~2 sec/image.
- Bleach an a Bucket - Sometimes beautiful, sometimes a train wreck. Almost always an interesting effect. Some have described it as "Holga-like"
- Ansel Adams - High-contrast Black and White, with a slight channel skew
- Tumble Dry Low - Light sharpening routines
- High Heat - Heavy sharpening. May cause slight pixelation.
- Gimme a JPEG - convert from 16-bit to 8-bit mode, change the color profile for a web-based JPEG
Process Raw Darkroom.app
- Processes an entire set of photos using RAW to Linear PSD and LinearLaundry.atn
- Creates a set of full-res, JPEG images, and imports them into iPhoto
- Cleans up after itself.
- Uses jhead to re-add the camera EXIF information after processing.
- Assumes a very particular directory structure to work! Specifically:
- You are using Image Capture to download both CRW and THM files to the "Pictures" folder
- You have folders called "RAW Darkroom" and "RAW Negatives" made in your Pictures folder. "RAW Darkroom" will be used for temporary processing, and "RAW Negatives" will be used as long-term storage for your CRW and THM files
- Since Photoshop doesnt like it when people touch the keyboard in batch mode, you may want to run "Process Raw Darkroom.app" when youre going to step away from the computer for a bit.
Enhancements:
- Fixed jhead bug in "Process Raw Darkroom.app".
- EXIF is now added on again successfully.

DateLine 0.81 is created as a small, simple application which lends you the ability of displaying a linear calendar on your desktop in a transparent window.

It provides easy access to iCal by double clicking on a day. The background and text colors are customizable with support for transparency.

The JANFEA application is finite element and material point method analysis software for the Macintosh. JANFEA was written by Prof. John A. Nairn from the Material Science and Engineering Department at the University of Utah.
JANFEA is focused on two-dimensional and axisymmetric solid mechanics of linear elastic materials and a few nonlinear material options in the material point method. Within this focus, JANFEA is a very powerful package. It can do several element types, it can analyze any size problem, it has extensive fracture options, and has many ways to plot the results.

Strain Simulator 1.0.1 offers a simple, stable and fast multimedia program for visualizing linear transformations in 3D. The source code is included. Strain Simulator is specifically designed to help students of structural geology, where linear transformation (under the name homogeneous deformation) is used as a simple model of finite strain in rock. The matrix representing a homogeneous deformation is called its finite strain matrix; the principal function of Strain Simulator is to demonstrate how changes in this matrix correspond to changes in rock deformation.

xMerge 1.2 is developed to be a useful and handy application for MacOS X which helps effectively with splicing together the data forks of assorted files. It can be used to join together raw text, MP3, MPEG video files and pretty much any linear non-resource based data format. It has a nice graphical interface.

- This Suite is to cope with 3D data and visualize them conveniently. Instead of manipulating the data in your script, you load them into memory and specify a name for them. Using the name you can extract whatever fraction of the data you really need. You can produce isosurfaces of a scalar field, and the stream lines of a vectorial field (results are triangle lists).

- This Suite introduces a new extensible data format, XNF (eXtensible Numerical File format.), extension .xnf. XNF files store binary 1D, 2D, and 3D arrays. One XNF file may contain arbitrarily many arrays of various kinds, stored under a variety of formats: the XNF file manages a Table of contents which specifies the properties of each array. Access to arrays is simply by name. Since the Table of contents is a XML, you can apply XPaths to retrieve a particular set of data. XMLLib osax required.

Terbium is a free and small Python application that will turn a directory structure of media and image files into a web-browseable gallery.
Terbium generates .html files in a self-contained hierarchy, which makes it a good candidate for browseable CD/DVDs of images and media files, or for online hosted galleries that do not need fancy validation, authentication or access patterns.
The default templates and stylesheet are intended to be lightweight but usable. They make use of some Javascript, but should run on even a low-end graphical browser.

- performs the minimal set of necessary rebuilding; when run against an already-existing output directory, it determines what has changed and only updates the appropriate files.

MapDraw 5.53 is a useful tool which provides you with you six different map formats to help you view your sequence and the restriction sites you choose. You can view linear or circular maps for sequences ranging from a few to millions of nucleotides. Specific sets of sites can be created, saved and applied to any sequence separately or in combination. Clear explanations of ligation and fill possibilities identify potential cloning problems and you can select restriction sites based on their cloning compatibilities to ensure proper site selection for digestions.

MapDraw displays translations of any or all six reading frames alongside the restriction sites and lets you create and selectively display features and annotations on your maps. MapDraw even lets you open sequences of multiple file types including those from NCBI's databases via accession number, the integrated BLAST tool, or the Entrez text query tool.
