Heart Monitor 1.3
Heart Monitor is a bare-bones CPU monitor menu extra that displays a beating heart more>>
Heart Monitor is a bare-bones CPU monitor menu extra that displays a beating heart. As the CPU load increases, the heart beats faster. You can set Heart Monitor to track the User, System, Idle or Nice load. It does not do much else. Uptime, processor info and other tidbits are not displayed. You can set the window level (desktop, normal or floating), and optionally display a small window showing all CPU load averages.
There are many CPU monitors out there that give you plenty of CPU information. This is not one of those applications.
How do I use Heart Monitor?
Simply double click to launch. A heart will appear on your desktop, and a new menu item will appear in your menubar, displaying a percentage. This is the CPU load average for whichever load you wish to track (User, System, Idle or Nice). Use this menu to set the preferences of the Heart Monitor.
How do I quit Heart Monitor?
Simply click on the menu that is displaying the CPU load, and choose "Quit Heart Monitor".
Why doesnt Heart Monitor show the things I want to see?
Because Im not you. And its free. And the source code is available.
Heart Monitor is 159% freeware. You may redistribute the application as you see fit, without notification to myself, as long as no fee is collected.

Drive Monitor 4.1 is considered as an easy to use, high performance utility for the Macintosh that allows you to easily view the status of all of the volumes mounted on your desktop.
The main window shows the name and icon of each volume as well as their size, used space, free space, percent used, percent free and a "thermometer" graphic representation. It is possible to sort the display by any of these items. If a volume is locked, a padlock icon is shown to the left of the drive name. Nearly full volumes are hilighted in a used selectable color. The bottom of the window provides a summary of all of the drives shown.
Service Monitor 1.0b1
Service Monitor ensures that internet services running on a computer keep working more>>
Service Monitor works by periodically querying the chosen services running on this computer, and verifying that they respond as desired. As long as they do, Service Monitor updates a "Rebound! Timer" in the PowerKey/Kick-off! software. If the service fails for any reason, Service Monitor stops updating the corresponding timer, and PowerKey/Kick-off! can take appropriate action to restart the computer.
iTunes Monitor 1.1
iTunes Monitor - Share iTunes 4.1 music between Macs. This utility monitors iTunes to provide a solution more>>
The iTunes application must be named "iTunes." In order to be recognized as music files, file names must have one of the following extensions: .wav, .wma, .sn2, .mov, .moov, .mp3, .aiff, .m4a, or .m4p. The iTunes Monitor cant associate a shared music file with a given remote user and files being accessed locally arent distinguished from those being shared. iTunes monitor cant display the name of a file which is being received. iTunes Monitor may not work properly if another application is being used to proxy music streams over the Internet (iTunes 4.0.1 only.)
Since lsof (the UNIX tool at the core of this application) doesnt reliably return complete path names, iTunes Monitor must scan your Music folder when a new file is encountered. It may take a few seconds after launching before it completes its analysis of the files and sockets iTunes is using and initially displays the information.
Enhancements:
- Added support for multiple music folders.
- Bug fixes: fixed memory leaks, improved responsiveness, fix for Panther.

Mac OS X 10.1 or later.
Battery Monitor 1.0
Battery Monitor - Record the performance of your battery more>>
Note that this tool does nothing magical. It simply records to a file what you can see when you use a stop watch and look at the battery indicator in the control strip or menu bar.
Since the values of every minute get recorded, you can use the output also to iport into a spreadsheet for making nice graphs. Its up to you to figure out how to do that.
Temperature Monitor 4.2
Temperature Monitor - Displays all accessible temperature sensors more>>
Temperature Monitor tries to detect all sensors on as many Macintosh computer types as possible.
Main features:
- display in a default window
- output in a screen display in front or in the background of the screen
- tabular display in an overview window
- display in the menu-bar
- display in the Dock icon
- graphical display of short-term and long-term history curves in an unlimited number of windows
- speech output
- display of minimum and maximum values
- export to text or CSV files
- Moreover, the application can display additional technical information about your computer. Among other information this includes processor type, processor and bus frequencies, and manufacturing information.
- The application can read out the data only if your computer is equipped with the necessary sensors, and if Mac OS X can access them without needing third-party device drivers. Starting in summer 2002, Apple has begun to massively drive forward the use of monitoring probes in the PowerMac series, the Xserve series, and in portable computers. Some models are equipped with 38 and more sensors.
- Temperature Monitor tries to detect all sensors on as many Macintosh computer types as possible. However, a prediction which sensors are available in which models is not possible, because Apple very often releases "silent product updates", where the hardware equipments of some models are changed but the names are not. The particular graphics card, hard disk configuration and operating system version is also important.
Enhancements:
- Added support for the new MacBook Pro series introduced in June 2007.
- Added support for a variety of internal temperature sensors of new hard drive models. This affects old Macintosh computers not supporting the AHCI standard.
- Alert panels now display the exact time when the alert situation was detected.
- Selected display preferences for the Dock icon can now be set directly via the context menu of the Dock icon.
- By user request, the Lite version has a new menu item to immediately refresh the display of readings independent of the regular update interval.
- By user request, the Lite version has now support for sensor alerts. The actions to display alert panels, to play the warning sound, and to run external applications are supported.
- The handling of repaired or refurbished Macintosh systems which dont have a valid serial number has been enhanced.
- Modified preference values are now committed to stable storage immediately when the preferences window is closed. This can reduce the likelihood that changes are lost when the application is used to diagnose problems on a computer with defective hardware.
Memory Monitor 1.2.6
Memory Monitor - Displays a graph of memory usage in the Dock more>>
It is published under the GNU General Public License, and the source code is included in the download.

Tomcat Monitor 0.1.1
Tomcat Monitor - GUI server monitor tool for Tomcat more>>
It also has start, stop, and reset buttons (and dock menu items) for the server - these just execute the startup.sh and shutdown.sh scripts in the bin directory of the Tomcat installation.
If Tomcat is running, the cat icon will be right side up. If its not running, it will be upside down.
This program may be handy to people who are learning how to use Tomcat for Java Servelets or JSP. Sometimes its easier to start/stop the server from the dock menu than from a terminal window.
Main features:
- Start, stop or reset the server.
- Can be controlled from dock menu.
- Status displayed graphically and textually.
- Not too fancy, but its convenient, and its free!
Enhancements:
- Now works with Mac OS X 10.3 and higher.
Web Monitor 1.0.3
Web Monitor monitors servers and websites more>> Record EVERYTHING you type; never lose work again and keep a record of everything that happens on your computer.
An effective backup tool, TypeRecorder is a must for users who do a lot of typing. TypeRecorder automatically saves all work to a daily log file, which can be retrieved in the event of an application or computer crash, or if any sort of work is accidentally deleted or modified. Because TypeRecorder records all keystrokes along with the applications they were typed in (and the time they were typed), it is easy to reconstruct any lost work, or go back to an earlier draft of a document. Even if you forget to save, TypeRecorder will always be recording.
- Records every keystroke typed, all applications used.
- Monitors computer usage.
- Password-protection for data files.
- Encrypt all data files.
- Secretly record everything that is done on the computer.

Load Monitor 0.93 is a beneficial and easy-to-use application which gives the system load, not the CPU load.
It tries to mimic the behaviour of the well-known "xload" availble with a X11 server. By default, the load values for the last 5, 30 and 60 seconds are displayed, drawn and updated every second. The delay between two updates can be adjusted. The source code is included and released under GPL.
