Riveal 9.1 is a very considerable in degree program that extracts sounds, movies, and pictures from the data files of most games in the Myst series:
- Myst [Original Mac version] (sounds, movies, and pictures),
- Myst [Original Windows version] (sounds, movies, and pictures),
- Myst Masterpiece Edition (sounds, movies, and pictures),
- realMYST, the real-time 3D remake of the original Myst (sounds and movies only),
- Riven (sounds, movies, and pictures),
- Myst III: Exile (sounds, movies, and pictures),
- Myst V: End of Ages (sounds, movies, and journals),
- Uru: Ages Beyond Myst and Uru: Complete Chronicles (sounds, movies, journals, and KI images), and
- Myst Online: Uru Live (sounds, movies, and KI images).

Running Riveal:
- Double-click Riveal.
- It will ask you to point to a game's data files. For most games, choose a folder (or a folder of folders) containing:
- Manhole "MooV" and "Res" files,
- Myst "MooV" and "Res" files,
- Myst Masterpiece ".dat" or "pics" files,
- realMYST ".dni" and ".avi" files,
- Riven ".mhk" files, or
- Myst III: Exile ".m3a", ".wav", and ".mp3" files.
For Myst for iPhone and iPod touch, you must choose the mobile application file on your Mac or PC.
If you have copied all of the game files to your hard disk, the folder/file to choose might be:- "/Applications/The Manhole",
- "/Applications/Myst",
- "/Applications/Myst Masterpiece Edition",
- "/Applications/realMYST",
- "/Applications/Riven",
- "/Applications/Myst III Exile",
- "/Applications/Ubisoft/MystIV/Myst4.app",
- "/Applications/Myst V End Of Ages.app",

- "/Users/yourID/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications/Myst currentVersion.ipa".
- Then, it will ask you where to save the extracted files.
- Next, you can choose whether to extract sounds, movies, or pictures.
- Click the Extract Files button. After a lot of disk activity, you should have many ".wav", ".aif", ".mp2", ".mp3", ".ogg", ".mov", ".m4v", ".avi", ".bik", ".pict", ".bmp", ".png", ".jpeg", ".tga", ".txt", and/or ".html" files.
Major Features:
- As a bonus, Riveal also extracts sounds, movies, and pictures from a few other games, including the Mac version of The Manhole CD-ROM Masterpiece Edition, an enhanced remake of one of Cyan's pre-Myst games, and some of the games in Presto's pre-Exile series, the Journeyman Project trilogy.

Diffraction is an important physical effect inherent in all wave phenomena. Fraunhofer and Fresnel diffraction are two important classes of diffraction. Fraunhofer diffraction involves coherent plane waves incident upon an obstruction. Fresnel diffraction is the same, except that the waves are spherical, effectively originating from a point source.
Fresnel Diffraction Explorer is based on an efficient algorithm to calculate numerically a Fresnel diffraction pattern using any two-dimensional aperture.
It is a simple exercise to show that Fraunhofer diffraction by an aperture is mathematically equivalent to the Fourier transform of the aperture shape. Because the integrals describing Fresnel diffraction are so intractable, however, Fresnel diffraction patterns have few analytical solutions, even in one dimension. ... A calculation in two dimensions is even more problematic.

J-Battle - BattleShips-alike game more>>
When I was very young, I got an electronic version of BattleShips (called "Sea Battle") for Christmas one year. I loved it, I could play against the "built-in computer" (a big thing in those days!) in various modes or against a friend. We thought it was fabulous and played it and played it until we damn near broke it. Sadly, it is now broken, probably from having been consigned to the attic for the last 16-or-so years!!
Anyway, Ive wanted to play it again for ages, so I set about writing my own version of it. I know there are others out there, but theyre all either not quite what Im looking for or take too long to set up and get stuck into a game. J-Battle is as simple as it gets: fire it up, select "New Game" and click where you want to shoot at. Its absolutely great if youve got a few minutes to spare or if youre bored at work! ;)
I hope you like playing J-Battle. Ill admit that its not exactly addictive, but it is very good for a quick fix if thats all youre after. If theres anything you particularly like about J-Battle, anything you want to know, have any constructive criticism or ideas for future versions, please let me know. Likewise if you would like the source code or have created an icon you think might be better. Actually, while Im on the subject of the icon, if you own the picture that the current icon came from, then Im sorry but I found the pic via Google image search a number of months ago and cant for the life of me remember where it came from! Let me know and Ill credit you or change it.

ShelfMenu - Menu bar item to store most any info: pics, text, urls... more>>
ShelfMenu is a small dockless application living in the system menu bar. It is useful to store every kind of information, like images, URLs, texts, file paths, lists; basically it can store everything you can copy in the clipboard. The information is organized in folders, which you can add, delete, rename and move (preserving their content).
You have two methods for storing an information in ShelfMenu:
1. Adding a text note; this brings up a very simple text editor, which lets you jot down a note;
2. Adding the last object copied in the Clipboard.
The objects are stored in a file; even if you quit the application, you will find everything as you left it the next time you launch ShelfMenu. If you want to use an object, you can simply copy it on the clipboard again, so you can paste it everywhere else.
Enhancements:
- It is now possible to invoke the application via a user definable shortcut
- The application can be completely hidden.

GL Image Browser - Quickly browse pics in folders & sub-folders more>>
With the GL Image Browser, you can open a folder on your computer and look for all the pictures that are inside, even in subdirectories if you want.
It is no iPhoto or Picasa clone, GL Image Browser is not meant as a tool to archive pictures, but as a tool to quickly browse through thousands of pictures to find a special one you are looking for.
If you left-click on a picture, you enter the full-view mode where your whole display is used to display the pictures. You can then use the arrow keys on your keyboard to go a picture forward or backward. Click again and you are back in the thumbnail viewer. Right-click a thumbnail to see the file on your harddisk.
Enhancements:
- We added a lot of new stuff to GL Image Browser, some new features are based on requests we got in the forums. We also fixed a Bug that prohibited GL Image Browser v1.0.1 from viewing PDF files.
- New features are PNG transparency, choosable background color in the picture viewer, drag and drop of folders onto the application to scan for pictures and last but not least a comic viewer mode. In this mode, the picture is zoomed to the whole width of your screen and you can move your mouse or use the scrollwheel (if you have one) to scroll the picture up and down. With the mousebuttons you can go a page forward or a page backward. This mode is great for all pictures that are higher than wide, DIN A4/A5 for example.
