A package of AppleScripts which simplify the following tasks: (a) encoding in FLAC of AIFF or WAVE tracks selected in iTunes and converting ID3 tags to FLAC comments, (b) decoding FLAC files to AIFF or WAVE and converting FLAC comments to iTunes ID3 tags, (c) encoding audio CD images of the bin/cue type to FLAC, and, (d) decoding FLAC-encoded audio CD images.
Requires flac, metaflac, cue2toc and toc2cue (or cueconvert).
Enhancements:

iTS is a simple Automator program which checks every 10 seconds which song is currently playing in iTunes and selects the track. What is it good for, you may ask. If you like the new Genius bar in iTunes 8 you have always to select a track to see the information in the Genius bar. With iTS it is done for you automatoratically. If you dont have iTunes 8 with its Genius feature iTS only selects the current track and is therefore just nonsense.
You cannot select another song or switch to another playlist while iTS is running. After 10 seconds the current song is selected again. But when you stop the playing track you can select something else while iTS is running.
You have to quit iTS manually when you want to click around in iTunes tracks. Do this via the application menu of iTS or by using the dock. iTS quits itself (after 10 seconds maximum) when iTunes is quit.
The Automator status bar is displayed in the menu bar of each application. After you quit iTS this status is displayed for some more seconds. Just ignore this.
The program uses fairly high processor power. I will try to solve this problem in future versions.
You can alter the waiting time of iTS. Open the program with Automator and find the line starting with "delay". That number represents the number of seconds iTS waits before repeating the loop.

I needed a way to control my iTunes running on my other Mac - since I found nothing which fits my needs I made up my own (as usual).

iTunes Control Scripts can show all details of the current track, control iTunes (volume, play, pause, quit, next, previous) and set rating for current song.

iTunes Skin is a skin cover for iTunes designed by Dragon Music Records.

Tunes Doodad lets you instantly switch playlists, skip tracks, or pause iTunes, all without using the iTunes interface, or bringing up a pokey Dashboard widget.
It installs itself as a tiny icon in the System Bar (up there next to your clock) and acts as a remote control for iTunes.
There are several preferences: choose which playlist types to display (Library, Smart Playlists, User Playlists, Podcasts, Purchased, Videos), and sort all of your playlists alphabetically (youd think iTunes would let you do this, but it wont...), some other stuff, too.
Enhancements:

- Fixed display of international characters in playlist names

iTAS nice and wasy-to-use image display tool that takes album art from the currently playing track of iTunes and displays the available art in its own window. It is an iTunes art switcher, so to speak, but a lot more. Read below.

iTAS 0.5 may not sound like much of a program. After all, iTunes already displays the art for you. So, what gives?Well, iTAS does give you some advantages.

First of all, if iTunes does not have the album art, you are given the option to display your favorite pictures (yourself, your girlfriend, wife, partner, fantastic scenes, and whatever you choose from your image files. iTAS will display it for you. Sounds cool?

But theres more! To avoid getting lost in the midst of listening to iTunes and looking at the display, iTAS displays the current track and artist together in one text field. And, to bring more life to the window, the song-artist combo text scrolls every 15 seconds (a la ticker tape in Wall Street; is that how they call it?).

Enough? Well, theres one just one more life-giving feature. The window is displayed at random locations on the desktop (a la screensaver, but not really) every time the track-artist combo text field starts scrolling.

Fix Missing Tracks is a small AppleScript which enables you to merge the meta-data from your missing iTunes track into another.

When iTunes has lost all knowledge of a tracks location, you can re-add the tracks to your Library and use this AppleScript to save your track meta-data (like play count, last played date and rating).

Completly freeware.
