iTunes Star Changer is a small AppleScript that allows quick rating of song tracks, in single-track mode or in batched track mode.

In contrast to the single-track mode of Rate-O-Matic, two modes are available in iTunes Star Changer namely, Single Track mode and Batch mode.

A single playing or paused track is still needed for the single-track mode to work. This mode is useful if you have not yet made up your mind on the rating for the track.

iT Star Changer also allows the rating of a batch of selected music tracks. However, all selected songs must have a pre-defined common or uniform rating. You can select as many songs as you want in the playlist window.

The selected songs in the batch mode need not be contiguous in the playlist, i.e., disjointed music tracks can be selected using the Command-Click method. Just make sure that the selected songs are highlighted (the classical gray shade).

This small application allows you to create playlists for every artist either in your
whole iTunes library or in a selected playlist.

Random Playlist Creator is an application that randomly generates iTunes playlists from a source playlist, which can be of any type that references Library tracks (Library, normal, smart, Purchased Songs, Party Mix are the types that come to mind). It requires that iTunes is running: when run, it will start iTunes if necessary and will automatically quit if iTunes quits.
Main features:
- Creates multiple iTunes playlists of a specified combined file size or playing time. The number of playlists created is dependent on the number of tracks in the source playlist.
- Creates "super-playlists", each consisting of one or more segments (each segment comprises an iTunes playlist). This feature is especially useful for flash-based MP3 players with expansion cards where the internal memory is a different size than the expansion memory.
- Allows the last generated super-playlist to be randomly padded with tracks from previously generated super-playlists.
- Allows groups of tracks to be kept together in a specified order within the generated playlists. This feature is useful for albums where multiple tracks comprise a single contiguous song and some of the tracks do not stand very well on their own, such as the tracks that comprise each LP side of Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon.
- Track groupings can be defined either by creating a specially-named playlist or by defining the "grouping" ID3 tag in each song file.
- The defined track groupings can be individually enabled or disabled for use when generating random playlists with track groupings.
- Allows a group of tracks to either be constrained to a single segment (if its possible for the group to fit completely within one segment) or to span multiple segments within a super-playlist.
- Provides an enhanced shuffle mode where an entire playlist can be shuffled into a single new playlist with the track groupings intact.
- Provides an option to use only the MP3-formatted files in the source playlist -- useful for MP3 CDs and non-iPod MP3 players.
Enhancements:
- Presets can be defined to allow quick selection of often-used settings.

Copy Playlist to Card copies the tracks of the selected playlist in iTunes and an .m3u file for it to a flash memory card or music player that is mounted on the desktop. The script will offer to trim to fit and/or erase the Audio folder if there is not enough room on the card.
The script was specifically designed for use with Aeroplayer on PalmOS, but should support any player or memory card that is mountable as a disk on the desktop - note that slight modification of the script may be necessary for use with other players, as outlined in the included read me file.
Copy Playlist to Card also numbers the copied tracks to preserve the playlist order alphabetically for players that dont support m3u playlist files, and bumps the played count and date which is useful for smart playlists. Most features are optional - see the read me for info on how to set options.
