iPod Song Entsorger is an iTunes script that removes one or more tracks which you have selected on your user playlists AND removes those songs from the library as well, so you dont have dead linked songs laying around that you meant to be deleted.

iPODion is an iPod song browser and file ripper. Drag a mounted iPod onto its icon, and iPODion loads the iPods database file and gives you an interface for playing the songs on the iPod.

Unlike other iPod browsers, iPODium actually uses the iTunesDB file written by iTunes, giving it all the information included in the iTunes Library, not just the data stored in each songs ID3 tags.

It then displays this information in the familiar iTunes interface.

Why would you have a need for iPODion? Say youve brought your iPod to work with you, but your iTunes library is on a home computer. You want to listen to the music on your iPod with your work computer (this is especially useful for iPod Shuffle owners). If you plug that iPod into your work computer, you cant easily get at the songs on the iPod.

iTunes will complain that the iPod was not synced with this computer, and then want to erase all your songs. There is no provision in iTunes for playing the contents of a forign iPod. iPODion will play the songs straight off your iPods drive, or you can use it to copy the songs to your own hard drive. iPODion makes it as simple as selecting songs in the playlist, and dragging them to the new location.

iPodDownload 1.0 is a powerful and splendid tool which can transfer music from your iPod to iTunes library. This is yet another tool to copy songs from your iPod to your Mac. But this one allows you to do it through iTunes itself!

Rating Writer is a small utility for iTunes 4 and Mac OS X that allows the user to write their current song ratings to the songs ID3 tag (in the comments field) and then later restore the ratings to a different iTunes library.

So Im going through my library, and notice quite a few albums which have the Artist and Song Name reversed.

So I wrote this little script to, well, fix that. I dont know how prevalent this problem is (I have quite a few CDs ripped ages ago when CDDB was even less organized) but thought others might find it of value.

Swap Artist and Song Name is a small AppleScript that swaps the artist and song name for selected tracks.

With Apples new Mac OS X Tiger you can search for files extremely fast via Spotlight. However, one drawback to Spotlight is that it does not search invisible folders and files. So if you wanted to search for a song on your iPod, Spotlight would not return any results. Thats where Spodlight comes in.

Spodlight forces Spotlight to index your iPod and make it searchable.

Now when you search in Spotlight, your iPods music is searchable and you can easily access it (play it, copy it, etc), without a third party program.

One drawback that Ive noticed is once you index your iPod with Spodlight, Spotlight will not automatically reindex changes. So maybe in the future I (or someone else, see below) could add automation to the app in the form of AppleScript and/or an Automator plugin.
