spinvaders is a direct descendant of the old "Space Invaders" type of game. This first public test release, version 0.0.1, is fully playable and may even be fun!
The game levels get progressively more difficult as you go along, with the aliens increasing in numbers and speed, and acquiring better, faster bullets.
Spinvaders features a point multiplier mechanism based on your shot accuracy. Each hit will increase the point multiplier (to a maximum of ten), and each bullet that goes off into space will decrease the multiplier.
When the multiplier reaches ten, you acquire the "super-gun", which fires more quickly, is slightly larger, and is more devastating when it hits; The alien which is hit throws off a couple bits of shrapnel which are deadly to other aliens, and then it falls burning to the bottom of the screen, where it is deadly to you.
The controls for the game are described at the startup screen, everything should be pretty obvious. One undocumented feature of this test version is that pressing "J" will let you jump to any level.

Letter Invaders is a typing game based on the arcade game Space Invaders, is designed to help improve typing skills (and therefore increase your chances of getting some sort of RSI).

The idea is to blast aliens out of the sky as they attempt to land on and "kill" you. Since this is a game to improve typing skills, the aliens are words selected randomly from the dictionary. You blast the aliens out of the sky by typing them correctly.

Playing the game is very straight forward. Type words as they appear on the screen. They will slowly drop until you have either typed them correctly or they reach the status line on the bottom of the screen. If a word makes it to the bottom of the screen you lose one "life".

If at any point you type a letter incorrectly the entire word is reset. The backspace key will not save you if youre a sloppy typist. It is not necessary to type words in the order they appear on the screen. In fact, that is often not the best action to take.

The program will attempt to determine the word you are trying to type by matching what youve typed with the first letter(s) of all other words on the screen.

Every time you reach a new level, words will move faster down the screen. In addition, new words will appear more frequently. New levels are reached after every 20 words typed succesfully.

WindowS InvaderS 1.0 is known as an interesting and fantastic sport game. It's Space Invaders but instead of aliens its microsoftstuff your fighting. This isn't a new idea.. but it's fun!
