ANTLRWorks 1.3b brings users a novel grammar development environment for ANTLR v3 grammars, which combines an excellent grammar-aware editor with an interpreter for rapid prototyping and a language-agnostic debugger for isolating grammar errors. ANTLRWorks allows users to edit, visualize, interpret and debug any ANTLR 3 grammar through an easy-to-use graphical user interface.

ANTLRWorks helps eliminate grammar nondeterminisms, one of the most difficult problems for beginners and experts alike, by highlighting nondeterministic paths in the syntax diagram associated with a grammar. ANTLRWorks' goal is to make grammars more accessible to the average programmer, improve maintainability and readability of grammars by providing excellent grammar navigation and refactoring tools, and address the most common questions and problems encountered by grammar developers

Major Features:

  1. Editor
    • Single window editing
    • Syntax highlighting
    • Rule navigation tree
    • Jump to rule or token definition
    • Go To Rule
    • Find usages of tokens or rules
    • Find and Replace using regular expression
    • Sensitive keyword, rule, and token auto-completion
    • Rules and actions folding
    • Tips and ideas
    • Auto-indentation
    • Refactoring - remove left recursion, extract or inline rule, etc.
    • Show generated lexer or parser code using syntax coloring
    • Syntax diagram display for lexer and parser rule
    • Show unreachable alternative(s) in syntax diagram
    • Display nondeterminism warning as ambiguous paths through the syntax diagram
    • Highlight decision DFA
    • Rule dependency graph
    • Export syntax diagram, NFA and parse tree to bitmap image or EPS file
    • Perforce integration

    • Step over rule
    • Show corresponding grammar location and parse tree node for each input token
    • Detachable panels
  4. Code generation:
    • ANTLRWorks supports code generation in any language that ANTLR knows how to generate via the output=language option.
    • For Java, however, ANTLRWorks knows how to build a test harness, compile everything, launch the parser, and connect to it--a great rapid prototyping feature when you can't use the interpreter because actions and/or semantic predicates must execute.

Enhancements:

  • New Grammar Wizard
  • StringTemplate Editor
  • Custom test rig
  • Run an input directly on the grammar
Requirements: Java 1.5 or later

Trebuchet 1.070

Trebuchet 1.070

Trebuchet Tk is a client program for connecting to TinyMUD style social MUD servers on the Internet more>>
This program is designed to be used with TinyMUD, TinyMUCK, TinyMUSH, MOO, and several other variants. Its probably not well designed for combat oriented MUDs like LPMUD and Diku, but it does support them.
Trebuchet Tk is a client program for connecting to TinyMUD style social MUD servers on the InterNet.
I started writing Trebuchet when I became frustrated at TinyFugues text-only interface, and at the lack of any GUI MUD clients that were both easy to use, and as powerful as TinyFugue.
When it came time to name the client, I figured that a Trebuchet would be an excellent way to sling MUD.
Main features:
- TCL/Tk is a powerful extension language, which you can use to add new abilities to the client. You can even create fully interactive GUI dialogs from TCL/Tk scripts. Actually, the entire client is written in TCL/Tk. Yet its amazingly fast.
- Trebuchet supports MCP 2.1 for close-knit client-server cooperation. It only supports a few (impressive!) MCP packages so far, but it should be trivial to create new ones.
- The server can request the creation of GUI dialogs via the MCP GUI package. This could make in-game bulletin boards, mail programs, and text editors much easier to use.
- If you have the TLS extension to the TCL interpreter installed, Trebuchet will support SSL encrypted connections to MU* servers that support it. The FBMuck 6.0 and ProtoMuck servers have support for SSL.
- You can create Hilites and Triggers that watch incoming text from the world. They can highlight all or part of each line, send automated commands back to the MUD, or even run TCL scripts. (screenshot)
- Pattern matching for highlights and Triggers is very flexible. The matching schemes include "Starts with", "ends with", "contains", "wildcard matching", and "regexp matching."
- Highlight Styles can include text color, background color, font, size, bold, italic, etc.
- Highlight Styles can have StyleMenu entries associated with them, that pop up in context menus when you right-click on the highlighted text. (However, there isnt yet a GUI interface available for setting these. Just a command line interface.)
- You can create command line Macros that can take multiple arguments and expand them out to much more complicated commands or TCL scripts.
- You can create QuickButtons that can send commands or execute TCL scripts with a single click.
- You can create KeyBinds to let you send commands or execute TCL scripts, with just a few keystrokes. (or only one!)
- You can connect to multiple Worlds at once, each one with its own scrollback buffer.
- You can search scrollback forwards or backwards, using literal text or regular expressions.
- You can Log text from a world to a file, in either formatted HTML or plain text format.
- You can Quote a file to the world, with prepended and/or appended text for each line.
- An integrated Scratchpad lets you edit text files, or jot down descriptions, then send them to a world.
- Almost all these features have keyboard-based methods to invoke them. (Except Quickbuttons)
- All these features have command-line interfaces as well as GUI interfaces.
- Trebuchet is cross-platform, available for Windows 95/98/2000/XP, Unix with Xwindows and MacOS X.
Enhancements:
- Various TELNET protocol fixes for EOR, etc.
- Added some better validation for various dialogs.
- Numerous small bugfixes.
- Support for STARTTLS encryption protocol.

Amazing Text Fun Game Engine 1.1

Amazing Text Fun Game Engine 1.1

Amazing Text Fun Game Engine - fiction game engine more>>
Do you fondly recall hours upon hours of Zork or Adventure in Humongous Cave? Does hearing the word "Grue" result in a welling up of emotion (mostly frustration)? Can you run down the proper action sequence for all of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy from memory?

Well then you are probably a huge geek. But thats ok, so are we. Welcome home.

In fact, the programming team at ATF has decided that its time for "interactive fiction" to get a much-needed shot in the arm. Games today are too full of imagery, animation, and action. All of this really draws away from the most important aspects of a game: the plot and the challenge. In order to effect change, weve written a game engine for text-based games.

Whats a game engine, you ask? Well its interpreter for a game: A game developer writes a game with certain rules and behaviors, and the game engine decodes that game and presents it to you, the player! No more pictures, no more motion; just you, your keyboard, and the game.

Amazing Text Fun Game Engine is an interactive fiction game engine.

Biferno 1.6

Biferno 1.6

Biferno is considered as a free new generation, Cross Platform Web Scripting Language allowing developers the rapid implementation of dynamic Web applications and of Web sites that offer a high degree of user interactivity. more>> Biferno 1.6 is considered as a free new generation, Cross Platform Web Scripting Language allowing developers the rapid implementation of dynamic Web applications and of Web sites that offer a high degree of user interactivity.

Biferno is a Web server add-on module that allows dynamic generation of HTML pages. The result of the processing of the Biferno code by the server determines the page content.

A Biferno script is therefore a server-side script, i.e. the Web server is tasked with code processing. Biferno is currently implemented only as an interpreted language, but Tabasoft is developing a compiler that will be soon released.

Biferno is also a "HTML-embedded" language. Scripts can be written in pure Biferno language, but can also contain HTML code segments between Biferno code blocks.

Major Features:

  1. Open Source
    • The complete source code is available and distribuited under the GPL license.
  2. Object Orientation
    • All variables in Biferno are class instances. This allows developers to write more readable and modular code that can easily be reused in different projects.
  3. Efficiency
    • The Biferno interpreter is completely written in the C language and optimization of execution speed has been a constant goal throughout the development process.
  4. Portability
    • One of the main problems for Web site developers is the maze of different platforms (operating systems, Web servers, databases) and their incompatibilities. Biferno's system independence allows to migrate a whole site from a platform to a new one with minimal effort.
  5. Extendibility
    • A complete public C interface and a downloadable SDK will soon be released, allowing developers to write their own Biferno classes. All Biferno classes (ranging from int to string to file) are based on this interface.

Enhancements:

  • Change
    • Err_IllegalDestructor
    • Persistent variables
  • Crash Bug Fixes
    • Memory crash reporting error
  • Bug Fixes
    • Expanding an array
    • Bad error Err_IllegalConstantExpression
    • Super object and fixed size
    • Err_IllegalScopeForObject
    • Array in multiple statements line
    • Conditional expressions
    • Threads timeout
  • Changes
    • Copying file variables
    • fKeepCon and IIS Windows
    • Check that "Allow IIS to control password" in IIS Admin is not checked.
  • Enhancements
    • Leopard MacOSX
    • Dynamic Charset
    • Undef on variables of class extending another class
    • CurScript GetIncludeStack
    • Object GetSuper
    • StackItem includeIndex and thisObj
    • Parameter onlyArguments in GetTotVariables
    • Class collection
    • Added BAPI_GetIncludeStack and BAPI_GetListTotVariablesExt
    • Debug page
  • Error report enanchements
    • Biferno Bad Urls Errors

QtiPlot 0.87

QtiPlot 0.87

QtiPlot - Graphing and analysis software for scientists and engineers more>>
QtiPlot - is a graphing and analysis software for scientists and engineers.
According to the author of QtiPlot his purpose was to develop a free, platform independent clone of Origin. The result is still far away from its model, but theres a "wish to" list which he is constantly working on. The program uses the GNU Scientific Library 1.6, for 2D-graphing Qwt 0.2.4, and for 3D-visualization Qwt3D 0.2.5 - these libraries will be installed by this installer (further information is available from the ReadMe inside the installation folder).
Main features:
- 2D and 3D data plotting
- ASCII-Import
- powerful and versatile spreadsheets and calculations in column-logic
- non-linear y=f(x) curve fitting and estimation of statistical errors of the fit-parameters.
Enhancements:
- separate installer packages for Macs with PowerPC or Intel processor(s)
- python scripting support (REQUIRES existing python 2.4 on the target computer)
- Added support for evaluating mathematical expressions and executing scripts using the Python interpreter on Linux and Mac OS X. Scripts can be edited and executed via Note windows or using a script window (which can be launched via a handy shortcut: F3). As soon as the port to Qt4 is ready, these features will be also available on Windows.
- Completely rewritten all fit routines in order to make them available to the scripting interface. Now fit routines support weighting and their output is highly customizable: the user may choose to define the resulting fit curves as mathematical expressions (normal functions) or via a data set.
- Improved the Non-linear Fit dialog.
- Improved the Help Browser. A much improved version of the manual is now available online (thanks to Roger Gadiou).
- Fixed bugs causing crashes during Multi-Peak Fits and other analysis operations.
- Improved saving and restoring of user global settings, including saving of ASCII import options.
- Fixed crash occuring when deleting multiple table rows.
- Improved behaviour of column/row headers in tables/matrices.
- Added new symbols to 2D plot curves.
- Added an Origin-like title bar menu for the MDI windows.

ADTPro 1.0.1

ADTPro 1.0.1

ADTPro transfers diskettes and logical disk images between Apple ][-era computers and the modern world more>>
Apple Disk Transfer ProDOS (ADTPro) transfers diskettes and logical disk images between Apple ][-era computers and the modern world.
If youre familiar with the original ADT, ADTPro extends ADTs reach by working with more logical disk formats, drive types, communications devices, and host operating systems.
There is a host (server) component that runs on modern computers with Java, and an Apple II (client) component that runs on any Apple II compatible computer with at least 64k of memory.
ADTPro transfers disks using any of these communications devices:
- Super Serial Card, IIgs modem port or IIc serial port at 115,200 BPS
- Uthernet Ethernet card
- The Apples cassette ports
ADTPro can be used to transfer either Apple diskette/disk images in DOS or ProDOS format. The Apple client side happens to run under ProDOS, but it is perfectly capable of reading or writing Apple DOS (or Pascal, or CP/M, or...) diskettes.
Server
The server program runs on a computer capable of running Java. Depending on how you want to connect to your Apple, you might also need a serial port and cables, an Uthernet card for your apple, or a couple of audio patch cables. The server offers a compact user interface that shows what communications are taking place between the host and the Apple.
The servers primary role is to send and receive disk images as requested from the client. But if you have recently acquired an Apple and a disk drive, and you have no software for it - youre in a bit of a tricky situation if you want to move software from the Internet all the way to your shiny new Apple. ADTPros server can help get you get bootstrapped.
Client
The client side runs on the Apple ][. It handles most of the user interaction. When choosing disks/volumes to transfer, anything that ProDOS can see is fair game.
Transferring data occurs with a 20k buffer on the Apple, so all transfers are broken up into 20k chunks. A progress indicator shows how far it is into the current chunk, as well as a running count of the total progress.
Main features:
- Compatibility with any device ProDOS can read
- Compatibility with any Apple ][ (or clone) computer with 64k memory
- Compatibility with many logical disk image formats: .DSK, .PO, .NIB, 2IMG
- Server compatibility with original ADT client program
- Server compatibility with Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, and probably Solaris
- Ability to bootstrap an Apple ][ from bare metal over serial or cassette ports
- Ability to send floppies in batch mode without having to name each one
Enhancements:
New functionality:
- [Client] The formatting function is now integrated instead of being a separate program
- [Client] Volume picker screen sets the default slot/drive for the BASIC interpreter
Bug fixes:
- [Client] (Finally) fixed audio transfer retry logic - darn Java and its signed bytes! Audio transfers are reliable at last. Slow as ever, but reliable.
- [Client] Fixed 15-character volume name bugs: one in the formatter, one in the online displayer/picker
- [Client] Made the Uther slot-scanning algorithm a little less intrusive, and used a MHz-insensitive timing loop to make UDP timeouts a little more reasonable on accelerated machines
- [Client] Used a MHz-insensitive timing loop to make the delightful beeping noise sound the same no matter how fast the CPU is going
- [Server] Better flow control for serial bootstrapping - improves life for serial interfaces that do their own buffering (i.e. Keyspan USA-28)
