Sound of an Image 1.1

Sound of an Image 1.1

Sound of an Image converts images into music more>>
Sound of an Image converts images into music. Open an image, choose which instruments to use, and hit "Play".
Sound of an Image will magically transform into real music the pictures you load into it.
Enhancements:
- MIDI Export
- This was by far the top user request: SoundOfAnImage can now export MIDI files. Note that it always exports with the tempo set to 120 beats per minute; you can Change that in whatever scoring/MIDI editing app youre using.
- Bug Fixes
- I fixed a couple of the most commonly-reported bugs. They were pretty weird and minor so I wont list them here.
- Open Source
- You can download the source code to SoundOfAnImage here. SoundOfAnImage is written in Objective-C using both Cocoa (AppKit) and Carbon (QuickTime). I wouldnt exactly call this high-quality code; SoundOfAnImage is more of an art project to me than a serious piece of engineering.

MaXineDrum 1.5b

MaXineDrum 1.5b

MaXineDrum - synth-drum for Reaktor 5 more>>
If you use Reaktor 5 as one of your virtual instruments and you are looking for some cool sounds, you might like the MaXineDrum.
This synth-drum comes from the need of being able to tweak any parameter for each step in a sequencer.
The idea came few months ago when I was looking for a virtual drum machine. I couldnt find anything that could do the job, so I decided to build my own drum machine, and ended up with the MaXineDrum.
This knobby instrument uses a bit of CPU according to how many things are happening at once. I suggest you to use it with a low sampling rate (even for the type of sound that comes out of it). You can always use few steps and youll get a good variety of sounds as well.
Main features:
- 4x16 step sequencer
- 4 different wave forms to choose from for each step
- lfo+filter bank and micro space for each pattern, to spice up your sequence
- randomize button
- phaser and parametric eq for the main output

Calcium Supplements 1.0

Calcium Supplements 1.0

Free Dashboard health widget for your Mac more>> All in one: SAMPLIT is the ultimate solution for sampling your midi and real instruments. Everything is here: automated recording, naming, truncating, compression, normalization, looping, resampling and even playing. Samplit sends the midi notes to the midi hardware, records all the individual sounds and create ready-to-play Sampler instruments with a few mouse clicks.
Formats: SAMPLIT currently supports 9 sampler formats:
Halion (Steinberg)
EXS24 (Apple)
Kontakt (Native Instruments)
Sampletank (IK Multimedia)
Reason (Propellerheads)
VSampler (MAZ Sound Tools)
Soundfont (EMU)
Gigasampler (Tascam)
Structure (Digidesign)
Quality: SAMPLIT uses the ASIO driver on PC and the CoreAudio driver on MAC.
Supported sampling rates: 44.1, 48, 96 kHz (depending on your audio card)
Supported bit resolutions: 16, 24, 32 bits (depending on your audio card)
You can always convert to a lower sample rate and bit resolution. For example you can record a piano in 96/24 and create a nice 96/24 piano in Kontakt format and a lighter 44/16 piano in soundfont format. All the operations on samples are non destructives.
Interface: The main window gives you a clear view of your current project. Anything that you do has an immediate visual impact. You can add or remove a velocity, select or deselect a note, listen to any sample, erase a sample that you dont like...
Recording: With SAMPLIT, you are in control. The recording window allows you adjust all the recording parameters in real time: thresholds, pre-recording, post-recording, recording limit, recording pause... You can also decide if you want to record by velocity or by note.
Midi: Every program inside a project records the bank change program change and control change. When you select that program, all these midi parameters are sent back to your midi synth like a total recall. But you dont need a midi interface to use SAMPLIT, you can also record any kind of non-midified sounds.

Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard 0.2.5

Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard 0.2.5

A free, cross-platform and open source virtual MIDI piano keyboard more>> A free, cross-platform and open source virtual MIDI piano keyboard

Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard doesnt produce any sound by itself, but can be used to drive a MIDI synthesizer (either hardware or software, internal or external).
You can use the computers keyboard to play MIDI notes, and also the mouse. You can use the Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard to display the played MIDI notes from another instrument or MIDI file player. To do so, connect the other MIDI port to the input port of VMPK.
VMPK has been tested in Mac OS X, Linux and Windows, but maybe you can also build it also in SGI Irix.
VMPK uses a modern GUI framework: Qt4, that gives excellent features and performance. RtMIDI provides MIDI input/output features. Both frameworks are free and platform independent, available for Linux, Windows and Mac OSX.
The alphanumeric keyboard mapping can be configured from inside the program using the GUI interface, and the settings are stored in XML files. Some maps for Spanish, German and French keyboard layouts are provided, translated from the ones provided by VKeybd.
VMPK can send program changes and controllers to a MIDI synth. The definitions for different standards and devices can be provided as .INS files, the same format used by QTractor and TSE3. It was developed by Cakewalk and used also in Sonar.

System requirements:
- MIDI device

Enhancements
- Bender returns to zero when mouse is released
- Dialogs: help "WhatIsThis?"
- Updated spanish translation and help file
- Import Sound Font Instruments
- MIDI In always enabled on Linux and Mac
- Implemented RFE# 2779744 - keyboard window: always on top
- Fix for bug# 2790316 - startup crash in OSX when no MIDI port present
