VR-Render 0.8 is a powerful tool which enables practitioners to quickly explore and analyze 3D medical or scientific data on a standard PC (Windows, Linux, MacosX). A medical image viewer freeware. It is an interactive system for planar and volume visualization. This software uses fast OpenGL graphics (ATI/NVidia) and is able to load a series of images stored in DICOM format (uncompressed and JPEG,) for medical review.
Visualization tools include orthogonal MPR, volume rendering and multiple colormaps (automated conventional colormap and dedicated digestive surgery colormap). Analyzis tools include distance measurement tools and image processing operators. For astronomical research, FITS format is supported (only on MacOSX). We wrote this facts review program to eliminate some problems associated with paper work sheets. There is no copy machine, no hand correcting, and for students that have trouble with the pressure of timed tests, most of these puzzles allow them to practice independently with a timer.
