ohmiGene 3.15 is an userfriendly, secure and reliable program which helps you manage your genealogical data. Available in French and English, ohmiGene works under MacOS X (PowerPC or MacIntel, including Leopard) and Windows. ohmiGene is a 'clean' program : it works exclusively in the folder which contains it.

A database created on Mac works on PC, and vice versa. An USB key, containing a working folder with the programs ohmiGene (PPC), ohmiGene X (MacIntel) and ohmiGene.exe (Windows) can be connected on any computer : ohmiGene is immediately operational
Data are saved in the database with the encoding UTF8 : languages as the cyrillic can be used.
ohmiGene is THE program, working with a database, which respects more the GEDCOM format (import-export).

If any context concerning the submission of a file to the church LDS is absent, almost totality of the other contexts are correctly handled (import, manipulation and export...): individual records ou family records, evnts, attributes ... without forgetting the relations (tag ASSO), the multiple identities, neither the possible doubles (tag ALIA) ... contexts often ignored by many software !

In project, if there is a request: the possibility of managing the homosexual unions. The version LITE is limited to 509 persons.

   • Here an overview of the main windows : main page, individual card, family card (parents), union card (spouses), relation card, avatar card (double) and finally, a card concerning an event.
   • Most of these contexts support an unlimited number of associated files (illustrations, etc.), notes (RTF format), texts, sources and 'sakouveux' (witness, epoch ..., not defined by the gedcom format).

Bringing wiki to the Mac OS X Tiger Dashboard. You can think of it as StickyNotes on steroids, or a digital Moleskine notebook. Create notes, search for them, and link notes together automatically.

Word Counter 2.10 is designed as a great Macintosh OS X application which can perform a word count and a character count and much more. It can be used independently or in conjunction with other applications such as TextEdit, Microsoft Word, Pages, TextWrangler, and others.

Text can be typed, pasted, or dragged into the window. Word Counter can automatically update the count based on a user-defined time interval. It can show the progress achieved towards a set goal for the total number of words and characters.

It also can perform bulk counts on multiple files and folders simply by dropping them onto the window. Word Counter can count the number of times a particular word appears in a document. It can even create a sortable summary table of all words in the document, with the number of times each word appears and the length of each word.

Word Counter can handle various file types including plain text (txt, text), rich text (rtf, rtfd), Hypertext Markup Language (htm, html), Microsoft Word (doc), Microsoft Word XML (wordml), Apple's web archive (webarchive), the Adobe Portable Document Format (pdf), and others. This program may be useful for writing a manuscript or an abstract with a strict limit on the number of words or characters allowed.

Compendium is the semantic hypertext concept mapping tool at the heart of the Compendium methodology.

Compendium a great tool, the result of over 15 years continual research, deployment and development of a tool to support the real time mapping of discussions in meetings, collaborative modelling, and the longer term management of this information as organizational memory.

Compendium was initially developed in Verizon research labs as a next generation version of the QuestMap product (read more) which provided software support for the widely recognised IBIS methodology (Issue-Based Information System), as embodied in Dialog Mapping by CogNexus Institute.

Compendium is arguably the most advanced IBIS mapping tool available, but goes much further with the addition of extensive support for web publishing, integration with other applications, support for multiple methods, and other advanced functionality.

Verizon, CogNexus, and other Compendium practitioners are now collaborating with the Knowledge Media Institute at the Open University (UK) who are developing the software further and integrating it with other collaboration technologies (see their eScience CoAKTinG project).

Compendium is a robust system, used for real work, but not a commercial product. Its first free public release, of v.1.2, occurred in January 2003, followed by many other releases. The source code became freely available in 2004.
