Classic Card Games: RMY has only one goal - get rid of all of the cards in your hand. If you have three or more cards of the same suit in a sequence, you can meld by laying these cards, face up.

Likewise, if you have at least three of the same value, you can also meld a group. For your first meld you have to have at least 41 points.

In this early version of this game melds are done automatically by the computer so you have only to select which card you want to discard.

The Restaurant Game is a research project at the MIT Media Lab that will algorithmically combine the gameplay experiences of thousands of players to create a new game.

In a few months, we will apply machine learning algorithms to data collected through the multiplayer Restaurant Game, and produce a new single-player game that we will enter into the 2008 Independent Games Festival.

The Restaurant Game is a greta oportunity because every player will be credited as a Game Designer. Its never been easier to earn Game Designer credentials!

All contributions are not equal, however. Designers will be ranked based on how well they play their assigned roles, and accomplish their objectives. There will be only one Lead Designer.
Remaining credits will be divided into Game Designers and Assistant Game Designers, and within each category individuals will be ranked according to the quality of their performance(s).

Quality will be determined computationally, based on a number of factors.

The Restaurant Game takes about 10 minutes to play. It is a two-player game that will automatically find partners for players once you join a server. You are welcome encouraged to play multiple times.

In order for this project to be at all successful, we will need to collect a lot of data -- data from over 1,000 10,000 gameplay sessions. Play early, play often, and please spread the word!

This project attempts to address two frustrations I experienced as a professional game developer.
1) Convincing human social behavior is difficult to model with existing hand crafted AI systems.
2) Play testing by people outside of the development team typically comes too late to have a major impact on the final product.

This experiment aims to generate AI behaviors that conform to the way players actually choose to interact with other characters and the environment; behaviors that are convincingly human because they capture the nuances of real human behavior and language.

OneCard is a Cocoa card game with rules similar to Uno. It is fun for all ages from 5 up. In OneCard you try to play cards which match another card in color or value.
There are also special action cards such as Wild, Skip, Reverse and Draw cards which make the game more interesting. The first player to get rid of all their cards wins the round.
The winner then scores points based on the cards left in other players hands and the first player to reach the goal score wins the game.

- You can play against 1, 2 or 3 computer players
- Your can play against up to 3 other players over a local network
- OneCard features 2 levels of difficulty, so it can be enjoyed by the whole family
- You can choose from 2 different types of scoring and can choose the goal score
- Computer players can be set to play automatically or manually.
- Keeps statistics on high/low scores, games and rounds won or lost and longest and shortest rounds
- You can choose different rule variations

AHole II is a fun card game which can be played offline, or online with up to 6 other players.
It is based on the original AHole card game written by Yiminee software.
Enhancements:
- 1.0b8.1: Fixed a crashing bug (I think) when opening the preferences window
- Higher resolution graphics! Three versions are available for download:
- Standard (800x600)
- Small (640x480) Same size as earlier versions. Lowest RAM usage, runs a little faster on slow machines
- Large (900x675) Largest, uses more RAM, runs a little slower on slow machines
- Window is resizable (graphics are scaled to fit the window size)
- A new tab in the Preferences Window to allow you to edit the list of names used for the computer players.

CocoaBornes is the classic French game of Mille Bornes, brought to Mac OS X. You may remember that this game, which was called Mille Bornes, was brought to the Mac by Greg Abbas in the very early 90s. However, as it doesnt seem like its seen any updates since that time, I thought the time was ripe for it to come to OS X!
I remember playing the game of Mille Bornes first on the Mac as a shareware program by Greg Abbas, which was originally written in ThinkC in 1992. I didnt realize it was a card game until a couple of weeks before I made this version you are hopefully about to play. I had been working on a game called Chessera for the uDevGames competition, but the guy who was getting me artwork darkbolt.com is a pretty busy guy, so by the time I got some to work with, I didnt have much time left. I suppose I could have submitted it, but I really wanted it to be complete.
I then got a hankering to play Mille Bornes again when I saw the actual card game for sale in a catalog, but was loath to launch classic just to do so. "Well," I thought to myself, "you have experience with card games from your dismal failure HunterCard, and youve been programming a whole year since then, why not whip up another card game, a really GOOD one, for this years contest?"
So I did. I challenged myself, with only 21 days to go, to recreate Mille Bornes for Mac OS X. Less then a week later, I had succeeded. Man, is Cocoa great, or what?
I really feel this is my best work yet, and although I did lift some of the interface from the original, I think Ive improved upon it as well. The game looks good, plays well, and I can play a great game without classic, and setting my monitor back to 256 colors. Have you ever tried Mac OS X in 256? Yuck!

R-game is an original card game that is loosely described as bet some money and hope that you have a good hand. It is more complex than that, but there is no room for a full description here.

It also comes with a save function, so you can pick up where you left off any time.
